What a gem!

From the very beginning, The LODGE made me feel like I was home.
Every single person I encountered — from the Park Rangers (especially my Power Ranger Patrick Miller), to Cameron at the front desk, Angie who handled my reservation, and the incredible front-of-house and back-of-house teams — showed genuine warmth, care, and professionalism.
Special recognition to Jeanie and her son Darien, whose leadership clearly sets the tone for the entire operation. The team they’ve built is exceptional. The service from all the women & Eric on staff was outstanding — attentive, kind, welcoming, and consistently thoughtful.
And the food… absolutely phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly — not greasy, not overly salty, just balanced, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can taste the pride and skill in every dish.
During a time when I truly needed comfort, kindness, and a sense of safety, The LODGE delivered all of it. This is what real hospitality looks like.

Been going there for years. I have finall become completely disappointed with the place. I always order a bowl of grits and bacon and have done so for a number of years. Today my bowl of grits was half the size of what I’ve become accustomed to. The price didn’t decreas with the portion size. I’m seriously considering not dining here again.

On a beautiful late summer day this place should be teaming with activity! Sadly just a few couples here for vacation. Regardless of how far away you live make it a point to come here. Spend the day, spend the night enjoy the patio, great food, friendly people (especially Kimmie) hike the trails to burn off your meal.

First time eating here and will definitely be back. Anniversary dinner tonight and everything was fantastic. My wife had the crab cakes and besides a restaurant that is now closed they are the best she’s ever had. We are from southern MD so she knows crab cakes. I had the steak special and it was perfect. I don’t care much for veggies but the zucchini was so good even I finished it. Excellent server and the view was great.
