My wife and I, both in our mid thirties, walked into this bar and were asked for our ID. We provided them to the bartender. We were told that they, “did not accept out of town IDs.”
I live in Godfrey, ten minutes away.
She then took our IDs to the end of the bar and flashed them to a group of ladies who I can only HOPE were employees and not three random patrons.
After their little conference she comes back and announces that we “do not look like ourselves.” We are then asked to leave.
I very seriously doubt that either I or my wife’s faces have changed much since we updated our IDs last year.
It seems clear to me that this business simply had no desire to serve us, for whatever reason, and leapt on any excuse not to do so.
Here’s hoping some place more welcoming opens after this place closes down.

Wow is their draft beer ice cold and the bartender was a good gal to chat with. I was a stranger in this local bar and was welcomed with open arms. If domestic beer (draft) isn’t your thing they have craft in bottle.

If you haven’t experienced the London Band on Sunday night’s, you’re really missing out! I had flashbacks to listening to blues at Bob’s Blues and Soups in St.Louis! John on lead guitar is phenomenal, and Jay Christopher is one of the most under-rated guitar players in this area! Plus, the atmosphere is a little more grown-up for us “mature” (ok, old! lol!) folks! Mike is a great host, and Julie the bartender keeps everyone in line, as well as serving great drinks! I highly recommend going and enjoying an evening!
