Everything i was hoping for. Quaint cafe off the beaten path, just a little. About 1.5 off the interstate, so worth it. This was my first time here. I was greeted by a sweet Southern accent and was pointed to table. This place appears to be tiny, but has much more room than the outside would lead you believe. It was cold today and on special was beef stew. Thats just what I ordered. Tender beef, thick flavorful gravy coating perfectly cooked potatoes and carrots. Served with savory cornbread. Hearty and filling. I had the Buttermilk Pie as well. Super sweet, but better than any Buttermilk pie I can remember.
Next time my travels take me anywhere nearby, I’ll be back for the Texas Dip. I really wanted one of them today but the stew called out to me…

Nice day to take a motorcycle ride from Texas City/League City 150 miles to Pecan Grove Cfe on old Hwy 75. Got there early, but was allowed to use the restroom. The four of us sat down, at 11:00 am, Jamie and Erica started to serve our teas, took our orders, three of us ordered the patty melt, one with bacon, then fourth ordered the sirloin. All of our meals were very delicious, well worth the ride. We all ordered steak strips for the ride home and I had the pecan cobbler to go. The atmosphere was very good inside, Jamie and Erica took care of us. Including tips, I left a $2 bill for them and the two cooks.

Went on August 1st around 12:30. Pretty busy, but it is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Sit wherever you want, they greeted us as soon as we walked in. They need music. I don’t know what it is with no music. Music sets the atmosphere. Put it on a Bluetooth speaker. Country or oldies on low volume. Something to keep from hearing other people’s conversations or noisy eating. Inside is like old vintage country. Can use some updating like on the ceiling especially. But was comfy enough. Parking is along the front. The menu is just like the picture listed under photos. They do not serve soda. So sweet tea, unsweetened tea or water. We both got unsweetened tea. That is a bummer, because I like coke. But o.k. husband ordered the Texas Dip he got grilled onions & pepper jack each was $1 extra each. It would’ve come with chips. If you want fries or onion rings it is $2.50 for that. He got onion rings. I ordered the Ground Ribeye Burger with added bacon, grilled onions & cheddar cheese at $1 extra each. I got French fries $2.50 extra. Came quick enough, we weren’t in a hurry. I read in the reviews to get your dessert early so they don’t sell out. So ordered that to go & they didn’t have the pecan cobbler boooooo. Got peach cobbler. It was ok, I wouldn’t order it again though. Seemed like a small portion (sometimes to-go orders are smaller than what you woud get there.) I wouldn’t know since we didn’t get it to eat there (too full). Burger was a decent size & happy that the patty was not super thick. They do have a double burger if you want that. Bacon was crispy, onions grilled right. Good amount of fries. I attached pics. Husband says his was good. He only got 5 onion rings. Seemed sparse. They were cooked well & crispy. They use an order ticket pad. So I don’t know how much the cobbler was but the total was $44.18. We just ventured away from Centerville to try them out. They aren’t open very long 11 -2. We are night owls so we got up early just to try it. Wasn’t the best burger I have ever eaten, but it was good. He enjoyed his Texas Dip & liked the jalapeño roll. If we go back, we will order something different to try & hope they have pecan cobbler! You take your ticket up front to pay.

Pecan Grove Cafe is delicious. The rib-eye Texas Dip with hot au jus is outstanding and the sweet tea is amazing. The true star of the show is the down home, welcome home customer service.

Stopped in for lunch. These folks really know what a cheeseburger should look like! Also had the smoked turkey sandwich. The prices will not disappoint. Excellent service, nice people, and a great early American atmosphere. 5 minutes off of I-45, well worth the trip.

Eat here NOW! The food blew me away with how simple and delicious it was, the atmosphere nostalgic and rustic. You sense the staff had a deep appreciation for what they do and the sense of pride came out completely in the flavor and quality of the food. Priced extremely affordably if all of the other awesome things about this place were not enough.

The food here was amazing. We were not disappointed with anything. The Texas dip is one of the best I’ve ever had and highly recommend! The ribeye burgers are huge and very well cooked. My mom ordered the chicken salad on their jalepeno bread. We stopped in on our way to Galveston and had a wonderful lunch. Staff very attentive and welcoming.
