A-Team Travels
It’s so wonderful when you try a new place and it truly delivers. This place is one of those establishments. My husband and I wanted a burger and decided to try out this spot.
As soon as we walked in we were met with friendly people, great live music, a full bar and a kitchen that offered a great variety of choices. It definitely had that cowboy feel and we were excited to see what they had to offer.
The kitchen is located in the back by the pool tables. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The staff that helped us that night was Summer, Katelyn, Casey and Nick. They were ALL equally AMAZING! We ordered two Winchester 1873 smash burgers . My husband ordered cheese curds with his and I ordered onion rings. We added extra cheese and raw onion to each.
The food came out quickly and it was fresh and piping hot. I also ordered their homemade ranch to go with my onion rings and it was delicious. I thought the value, especially for this day and age, was good. We were thanked for our business and invited back. Which y’all KNOW is always a plus for me.
So sometimes life be truly lifin’ and right after leaving the establishment we stopped at a gas station. While there my husband’s truck began to overheat and we had to wait on our son to pick us up. Lawd have mercy . Well it was freezing cold and I immediately grabbed that hot food and devoured it. The burger meat and bacon was cooked and seasoned to utter perfection. The cheese was just oozing and the bun was soft with a nice buttery toast to it. The onion rings were EVERYTHING, fried to perfection with a nice crispy batter around them. Oh man! I was in love. Now we didn’t get to savor the food in the best circumstances but it was AMAZING and because of this and just that the food and service was just that damn excellent we will be returning.
I highly recommend this spot and I’ll be taking our son to get beat by him on one of the two pool tables they have. Do yourself a favor and check these folks out. I know you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Tell the crew A-Team Travels said what’s up while you’re there. You’re welcome!! Enjoy!

I got a double cheeseburger called the Double Barrel. I had mustard, pickle & onion. They let you dress them the way you like. But they don’t have lettuce or tomato.
I liked the curly fries. Very good.
My wife loved the onion rings. She got a Single Barrel with mayo & pickle.
We’d return. This is a legit burger. Best I’ve had in Lee’s Summit. Reminds me of Cosmo Burger or Paul’s Drive In in KC. Delicious!

KC, you are sleeping on this GEM of a restaurant. Someone coming from L.A. this is hands down one of the best smash burgers I’ve eaten here, and both coasts. Run don’t walk. I had Colt 45, it had jalapeños but was not hot. It is a nice heat. Curly fries nicely done and seasoned.

I was very eager to try this place after reading the reviews and seeing how delicious the food looked. Once I got my food, I was very disappointed by the portion size, especially for a $13 meal. The flavor was there, but the burger patty was so thin, it was like eating two pieces of bread with onions. I understand the idea of a smash burger, but this was excessively “smashed”. The onion rings were good, but again, portions were lacking. On a high note, the service was good and the woman taking my order was very kind. I would consider returning because I do want to support local businesses over chains, but I’d be hesitant to because of the price to portion size disparity.

Cowboy Kitchen was absolutely phenomenal! The owner, Nick, was super helpful, kind and very welcoming. There was an issue with the online ordering (out of his control) and he took the time to personally call me back and take my order over the phone. We arrived and he greeted us and had our order out very quickly. Nick told us that his burger is ranked 2nd in Lee’s Summit and I think it should be ranked 1st in the overall Kansas City area. It was the best burger I’ve ever had. All the sides were 10/10 (onion rings, fried pickles and curly fries). Summer, Nick’s girlfriend and owner made the BEST homemade ranch. We cannot WAIT to return!!

The food is so good! My boyfriend got the double barrel burger and he said it is one of the best burgers hes had. I got the chicken sandwich and it was so good! We also got curly fries and onion rings which were really good. The man that took our order was so nice! This place is located in a bar so if youre under 21 don’t get scared everyone was so nice though

Been wanting to try Cowboy Kitchen for a while. It DID NOT disappoint!! I would put this burger as one of my favorites if not the best burger I have ever had!! Nick was extremely nice and delivered our food himself. Adam that runs the bar recognized me at the store just a short while later and introduced himself and only had great things to say about Nick and his food! There is a great partnership. I will be be back! Thanks for a great experience.

My stepson & I had lunch there today. We both had the burgers and those smash burgers were excellent. Nick took great care of us, he’s a nice guy and we all need to support his small business. He’s the owner, the cook and probably the dishwasher too and he makes sure you get a great meal and a good experience. I highly recommend that you stop by sometime and try the burger & tots.
