I have known about this little coffee shop for over 15 years and never took the time to visit and eat there. My daughter and I wanted a quiet lunch so we chose Lightnin’ Bugs Cafe and Bakery. I must first say that the staff was so kind which will always keep me coming back for a good experience!
The first thing I saw on the counter when I walked up was the new coffee list with all of the fall and holiday flavors! Fall here we come!
We ordered chicken salad on croissant, a grilled chicken on ciabatta, and grilled chicken and ranch wrap, each served with a pasta salad. Our food was delicious and we also got a dessert and hot tea. The place was quiet and peaceful and they offer WiFi link for their customers.
I wish I had come here sooner and I wish more people would come try this cafe and bakery because it was such a nice experience. The ambiance is going to only improve when the fall and winter weather hits and the holiday decorations are in full display in Warm Springs!
Give it a try!

We drove into town specifically to visit this bakery — it was the only stop we planned while we were there. We arrived a little early and waited in our car until 10:00 AM, which is the posted opening time.
When we walked in at 10:00, the girl behind the counter was unpleasant and told us they don’t open until 11:00. She then turned on the light for the pre-made items, stood there, and commented that “nothing was ready,” creating an awkward and unwelcoming experience.
If the business truly opens at 11:00, the hours need to be corrected everywhere. The sign outside lists 10:00 AM, Google shows 10:00 AM, the website allows you to place a to-go order for 10:15 AM pickup, and the Facebook page has not been updated.
Between the inaccurate hours and the dismissive attitude, we chose not to spend our money here and would not encourage others to invest in service like this. Very disappointing, especially when this was our only planned stop in town.

Can’t tell you much about our experience, young lady behind the counter that waited on me didnt want to fix a coffee for me because she didn’t want to brew a pot. Asked if I would order an ” Americano” instead. Also had a mouth full of food at the time. What ever happened to customer service? The place looked and smelled good. Had a great meal at Bullock House right before this with friends.

One of my favorite places to eat in Warm Springs. After hiking in FDR State Park, this is a must visit. Warm Springs is a quaint little town that every one needs the opportunity to visit.

We’d been in town for the weekend and just discovered this gem of a place a few blocks from where we were staying. The aroma of coffee assaulted us as we walked in the door, hypnotizing us into staying for breakfast. The shop itself is absolutely lovely and cheery, with sunshine pouring through windows and dancing on tables adorned with colorful flowers. My sister had a traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and toast, and said it was the best she’d had. My breakfast was a ham, cheddar and egg breakfast sandwich on Texas toast. If I’d had room, I would’ve stayed for another. It was like eating at Mom’s house where everything tastes so delicious. The staff were happy to be there, friendly as can be, and very efficient. It was by far the best dining experience we had during our extended four day weekend in Warm Springs. OH… and the coffee was superb! We will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a quick bite after visiting the Little White House. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something that’s not real heavy. The person that helped us was very patient. She answered all our questions. Not sure if she was the owner or manager but she was very helpful.

Quaint little place! We sat outside and people watched. Food was a little pricey but we don’t mind supporting a small local place.
Food was good, wait staff was gracious.
Sad to say they were out of hummus

Chai Latte with a shot of espresso done right. This coffee shop is at the back of the building and can be accessed through the court yard or through the boutique that faces Main Street. If you’re in Warm Springs or near by, definitly stop in.

For them, it’s obviously about low expectations and poor execution. For me, it’s a place I’ll never come back. Nice atmosphere if you can get past overhearing the kitchen staff noisily gossiping.

So good and fair prices for food made on site from real ingredients. There is some genuine cooking and baking talent here. Best frittata, homemade peach ice cream, lemon meringue pie, chocolate fudge, espresso, chicken salad sandwich on croissant, and ham and cheese on croissant! They use real plates and silverware (none of that plastic and styrofoam). Great service, too! Can’t wait to return.
