As a total foodie, I must say Chennai Central Café in Oklahoma really surprised me! I loved the warm and welcoming ambience — the Diwali décor added such a joyful touch to the place. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely made me feel at home.

The food was flavorful and authentic — definitely a solid 4/5 for taste. I also appreciated that they don’t charge extra for rice like many other restaurants do — small gesture, but it shows they care about customer experience.

The food was absolutely amazing! I especially loved the biryani and curry fish—both were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The owner and our server were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes soon!

I’ve supported this restaurant for a long time, but this order was very disappointing. The mutton curry with chapati was $20 and only came with two small pieces of mutton, which felt unreasonable for the price. When we called, we were told that only two pieces are given with chapati, but that still does not justify the cost.

The lemon rice, which used to be one of my favorites, had an overpowering ghee flavor this time that completely affected the taste. It was not how it used to be.

Overall, the portion size and quality have declined compared to before. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering from here again anytime soon.

This place has a lot of positive reviews. I really don’t know why.

The positives:
Prices aren’t too bad (not great ether)
They serve on silver plates and banana leaves for authenticity
They gave a free desert (not good though)

Negatives:
We ordered 2 masala dosa – came stale and the chutneys and sambar weren’t that good. The interior is dirty and has random stuff on different tables. The servers are on their phones the whole time and don’t care about you, your meal or your time. On top of this cleanliness is an issue. Save your money and time and don’t come here!

Edit:
The owners instead of owning up to any mistakes left a reply mocking, and coming after me personally. Perhaps if they put the same effort into their food as they did replying to comments, I would’ve had a better experience. Definitely will not be returning here and I do not recommend it!

I had amazing food today, and the spices and flavors take me back to the best Indian food I have ever had. The owner was very nice and took time to talk with us. The mango lassi was perfect.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0/5

Had an awesome meal here! The food was fantastic—Chutneys were fresh and tasty, and my kids absolutely loved the Sambhar and ghee dosa. The kara chutney reminded me of homemade food, Great portion size with more than enough quantity.

What I particularly loved:
Eco-friendly serving: steel plates and cups—nice touch.
Clean, well-set-up dining area that added to the experience.
Everything was nicely set up and enjoyable.

Would definitely recommend to families and anyone craving comforting, homestyle flavors. I’ll be back for sure!

Such a lovely Southern Indian restaurant. Everything is authentically made and tastes flavorful. The goat curry was great and a perfect level of spice. We also tried the chapati and korma which was excellent. The chapati was thin and tasty. I loved my cardamom chai Bobba lovely mixture of flavors. The only con is the portion sizes and prices. The portions are a bit small and the it is a bit pricey for the size.
All of the waiters were very nice and helpful with everything. I loved the atmosphere as well it had a fancy feel high is perfect for an evening meal.

Chennai Cafe is an absolute gem! The egg dosa was crisp, the vada perfectly crunchy, and the sambar idly soft and fresh. The three chutneys were a flavor explosion, each one more amazing than the last. The sambar was rich and flavorful, taking me back to the best meals in India. And the filter coffee? It was like a nostalgic trip, just perfect. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic and delicious South Indian food!
Thanks kavya for serving us ☺️

We had an event for around 20 people at Chennai Cental Cafe a week ago. Right from the planning to the buffet, Uma (chef and owner) was easy to work with and gave us great suggestions for the dishes. The food prepared was outstanding, delicious and very authentic Tamil food. Our guests commented it tasted like ‘home cooked food’
In particular, I would absolutely recommend the veg dishes—Butter murukku, spinach & dal wada, paniyaram . The fried golden pompano, mutton fry Sukka and pepper chicken were flavorful and delicious.
Uma had set up tables for us for the group and the buffet. She is absolutely passionate about food and it shows on the final product.
I hope you will try out Chennai Central Cafe.

We had a very bad experience being here for a family gathering. The food was frozen and they just heated it and giving to us. The veg meals cost tooooo much… they are charging $21.99 and sambar — full of only masala and no taste. Rasam – real worst.
Beans poriyal – its too hot. Could not have it. Full of chilli powder. They have given some thing seems like vathal/kaara kulambu. that already spoiled. That also they just heated up and given to us.
The rice is not cooked well at all.

We ordered 4 lunch thalis and all are same.

The rice qty is very very small..(kids size). we need to keep asking for rice.

Curd – we need to ask them seperately and that too they are giving as very small … for 4 meals, they given only very small bowl of curd that will go with only one meal.

We orderded biriyani as well and no salt at all. Its just like normal rice cooked with veggies. No spicy or salt.

best go for only dosa with only chutney. (Samabr is bad and reheated again and again thats literally seen) . if you are too hungry. Dont waste money visiting this restaurant.
