Sandwich shop, tasting bar and gifts, oh yes. We decided to go here for a late lunch after reading over the sandwich menu. It said they also sold jewelry, so I was confused, but as soon as you walk in there is no confusion at all. It’s an expansive yet cozy environment, and we were quickly greeted by a friendly face. We said we were there for sandwiches, and she went to start toasting the bread while we decided which ones. We settled on the “bacon, apple & cheddar” and the “fig & brie”. Both were absolutely delicious! I’m a sucker for bacon jam, and it went so well with the apple and cheddar, but when I bit into the other sandwich, the brie was perfectly melted and went amazingly well with the fig Meyer lemon honey preserve. Both sandwiches came with a bag of chips (Miss Vickie’s jalapeno!) and a little chocolate. There are round tables set up in the middle of the shop, and it was perfectly relaxing. We ended up buying a small jar of another jam for $7 and enjoyed looking at some of the other gifts on display. This is a great shop and a must-stop.

My mom and I came in on Friday afternoon and had a beautiful charcuterie board and wine. The owners are so awesome, and the place just had such a peaceful vibe. It was extremely well priced for what you are served! Lots of cheeses from Landmark Creamery, and that’s a very good thing!!!
They also have a ton of really neat jewelry and other beautiful things to purchase if you are interested in more than food and wine. Absolutely beautiful space. Highly recommend!!! ❤️

Such a comfortable spot to grab a glass of wine, cup of coffee, lunch or a snack while strolling through New Glarus. Great shopping. Ashley has a great eye for what to put in the store for you to enjoy. Definitely worth the drive but if it was closer to Madison, you would find me there every week!

This place is hard to describe. The food is snackish but it’s great. The beer and wine are not things you’ll likely see other places. The items for sale are eclectic. The room itself is great to just sit in even if you aren’t already there with friends. And if you aren’t there with friends you’ll make at least 2 in Ashley and Michael. There’s just no place like it.

The Alpine and it’s owners are a perfect example of New Glarus Heritage mixed with great modern day business sense. Comfortable chairs, a relaxing environment, games, great selections of Beer and Wine as well as plenty of cool things to purchase for almost any occasion.
