Stopped in today to have lunch and left really impressed with Darby’s. The service was quick and super friendly. A bunch of us got burgers and we all agreed on how good they were. The fries were a nice addition to the meal as well! I got the fubar burger (pictures below) which has tomato gravy and jalapeños on it. Sounded good to me and it indeed tasted delicious. Definitely recommend this place for people around Fort Benning or if you’re just exploring Columbus!

We came out to Fort Benning for a graduation and decided to try out this restaurant. SO yummy! We decided to come back with our son after his graduation. The burgers, fries, tots, fried pickles, and chicken fingers were all top notch. And the Darby sauce is so good! Super fun Army vibe.

Looks can be deceiving!! Looks like a military bar from thw outside but inside its like a museum. Tons of photos and crazy military focused items to look at. The FOOD IS AMAZING !!! Everything we ordered at our table was outstanding. Their fried chicken is banging! Light crunchy exterior and still super juicy inside. Omelets were huge. Biscuits & sausage gravy were yummmmm.

Service was great from the moment I walked in, the kind of southern hospitality you’d expect. I placed my order to-go and got to meet the owner while I was waiting on my food. She was sitting at a table near me updating the menu to offer some “lighter, healthier” options. Because Darby’s is so close to Fort Benning, she shared with me that she wanted Darby’s to be a place where service people could get a taste of delicious, homemade dishes, as many of them are far from wherever they may call home.
I got the Airborne Burger- comes with two patties, cheese, bacon, fried egg, LTOP on a potato bun. Perfection. This is a tasty, homemade burger. It’s not a smash burger or your typical restaurant burger. It’s delicious and reminded me of the burgers my grandpa used to make for us. And the FRIES??? Perfection. SO GOOD.
This burger is a definite winner in my book

I’m from San Diego, being here for the first time was amazing. My brother graduated from basic training. Him and his buddies wanted to eat real food. I looked online and looking a the reviews we came here. I was greeted at the door warmly. Staff there was friendly and kind. All four of us ate like kings. The Darby’s Burger was amazing it was well seasoned and the bacon OMG. I had burgers back where I’m from but man this really did wow’d me. Who ever was back there cooking it Sir! You need a raise. Keep doing what your doing ! Everyone was satisfied with their meals. I will definitely comeback again. If your looking for breakfast or lunch just come here, you will not be disappointed. Thank staff for a wonderful experience.

From the moment you walk up, you can feel the genuine, welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear this place has a deep respect for the local community, especially our military and first responders. The decor is straightforward and patriotic, focusing on what matters: good food and good company. It feels like a place you could easily become a regular at.
The Food:
I was torn on what to get, so we just got both to try that Fried Bologna Sandwich was calling my name, and it was phenomenal. That sloppy burger with the fried egg was the star of the show. This isn’t your childhood sandwich—we’re talking thick-cut bologna, perfectly grilled on what looked like rye bread, with gooey melted cheese. It was savory, nostalgic, and absolutely delicious. The side of crispy tater tots was the perfect pairing.
We also tried the Burger, and it did not disappoint. It was a classic, juicy burger served on a bun that was branded with a cool logo (a really nice touch!). It came with fresh toppings and a generous pile of perfectly cooked crinkle-cut fries. The portions for both meals were generous, and you can just taste the care that goes into the cooking.
Service & Highlights:
The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. I really appreciate that they serve breakfast all day—I’ll definitely be back to try that. It’s also fantastic that they offer a 10% discount for Military and First Responders, which really shows their commitment to the community.
