If you haven’t had a taste or the food at Mixon Sports Bar… you’re missing out! Great environment, great drinks, and AMAZING food! Not your typical bar food at all. Make sure you try brunch from there also!

We stumbled onto this place when unable to find our 1st choice for dinner. The outdoor seating was nice, but soon all the flies within earshot were pestering us and we moved inside.
The menu posted here is no more. It was an extensive menu. Sorry I failed to take a photo.
The server had worked there for only a week and knew little about the menu. She went inside after nearly every question. However, her charm and positive attitude made up for that.
My 1st choice of cheesestake egg roll was 86, so I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich. Using 3 slices of Texas toast, there are 2 layers of cheese. It looked beautiful, but the cheese wasn’t melted very well. Mine was ordered with the Caesar salad, which was robust and very flavorful. And the portion was so large that I just ate the salad and took the sandwich to go. I would make another another choice next time.
The burger was enjoyed by one friend, served on a brioche bun. My other friend also enjoyed his meal with fries.
I’ve saved the best for last. We shared an order of fried pickles, only the 2nd time in 15 years that I had them. These were delicious. Perfectly battered with a great mixture of crunch and the soft pickle slices within. Served with ranch, we could have each made a meal on them.
The owner/manager came out to say hi. Very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is large with 2 seating areas. One has high tops and the other, larger side with low tops. High ceilings and bright and cheerful. This was my 1st visit to Charleston but this place would definitely be a regular stop. Great value and service.

So far I’ve been there 2 times. I had their burger and wrap. Both times I had great service and food. Can’t ask for more.

A lot to work on here. The food was decent, however it took 35 minutes to get our order and we were one of three total groups in the building, one of the others was already eating, and the third group was already at the bar when we arrived. They were upfront about the transition and why they couldn’t serve their full drink menu, but if there was an issue in the kitchen, they didn’t say. The service was okay, but we had to ask for drink refills. The food was good mostly, the Caesar was a little over board with dressing, and the lettuce seemed a little old, but in pandemic times who knows what that could be. The staff were nice. This would have been a much better experience if there had been a sense of service and a more apparent urgency to serve customers. For the price, this is a sub-par establishment. Mixson is in need of a good restaurant, so I hope this changes. A lot of potential.

The service and food was awesome. My boyfriend got the filthy cow and I got the fat cow and we both loved our meals. The fried Mac and cheese appetizer was great as well. We could barely finish half of our burgers especially after the appetizer but they were still great! The fat cow is A LOT of food so just beware before ordering it. The prices were totally reasonable and it was a great atmosphere. We will be back:)

The servers were sweet and the outdoor seating was nice. I didn’t receive what I ordered and all of our burgers (4) and buns were burnt and a little overcooked. I chose not to let the server know until after we were “through” because I didn’t want more or different food that could’ve potentially been toyed with (that’s just always a fear of mine). We wanted to pay for the food and not ask for special treatment, but she apologized several times although we know it was not her fault.
