Impressive service and one of the best places for a fish fry in Iron county. The fish itself is excellent. Perfect breading, not overdone and great house made tartar (I assume it’s homemade, at least). Skip the fries, they undercooked those. Tots are solid. The bartender made a damn near perfect brandy old fashioned.

Whenever I’m up north visiting my parents, we go to Johnny’s for Friday fish fry! Peggy is usually our waitress and she’s a hoot! Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and service.

Small, quaint, bar nestled in the heart of downtown Mercer. The bar has recently been purchased by a new owner and they’ve gone out of their way to transform it into something great. The food menu is small but the food we ate was delicious. I had “Da” Cheese Louise which consisted of 2 smash burgers with bacon and beer cheese and my wife had the grilled cheese burger. Both were served with fresh cut French fries and were delicious. Avery ( the owner) was very hospitable and quick to answer any question we had. The drinks were both affordable and poured well. I had a Jamison Orange old fashion and my wife a captain and diet. I can honestly say it was one of the best drinks I’ve had and enjoyed my time there immensely. The bar itself could use a little updating based on the sparse decorations and limited table seating. However, I’m excited to see what the future holds for them and will definitely return in the near future.

The burger was very generous and the fries were out of this world! Tater tots were phenomenal as well. Our lovely server told us they are made in house and you can tell me how fresh they are. I would come back for the fries alone!

7/5/25 Outstanding service! Family owned. So accommodating. Avery was wonderful. Our original plans fell through for my husbands birthday and we stumbled upon Johnnys. We were sat immediately- 8 adults and 4 hungry little ones! Food came out quick. Yummy curds! Delicious burgers and fries! The kids loved their chicken tenders, too! We will be back!

We went on a Friday night for the fish fry and I was very pleased. The portion sizes were really great and so was the fish. It was fried very well and had great flavor. I got the 2 piece fish and was very satisfied at the end of my meal. The prices are set well and the beer is cold. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap. This is a great stop for a laid back dinner and a drink.
