Hereinafter also contains a retail wine shop called Heretofore Wine Shop. Heretofore gives guests something unique and we sell a worldwide selection of esoteric wine. Wow! Wow! and Wow! What a hidden gem. Found this place as a Harvest Host member. Not only did I appreciate the stay, but Ben the owner met us right before 4:00pm and graciously greeted us on arrival. Once we got settled, we took a walk down by the lake. After our walk we freshened up and went and got a few drinks and some food. The food was extraordinary! Brussel Sprouts are the best I ever tasted. And trust me, I have tasted others that I thought were the best, but this beats them hands down. I also went out on a limb and tried the shrimp and lobster Reuben. Not a mistake. It was the best Reuben ever. Sorry Corn beef and pastrami lovers. Anyhow, get your buts off the i-70 trek and stop at this place. Ben, Amy, and Nick are the best. You won’t be disappointed.

Sasha Petraske is the man responsible for modern cocktail culture. Therefore, any bartender trained by Sasha Petraske will pour you a cocktail worth remembering. A bar owned by one of Sasha’s protégés will gift you an experience to remember. Ben Long is that owner.
His dedication to his craft is evident throughout his bar: the atmosphere, the service, the style of shakers, the lack of quick pour spouts, BIG clear beautiful ice, the glassware, and on and on.
I didn’t even know what to look for in a good cocktail until I met Ben, and subsequently read “Regarding Cocktails” (a beautiful book, worth owning by any cocktail enthusiast). Now I understand, all of these small details matter exponentially, especially the Ice. Be careful if you ask Ben about the Ice. He Will Tell You.
This impressive bartender also created two of the cocktails published in Sasha’s book.
I now have a very high standard for cocktails and cannot wait to return to the Hereinafter. Cheers!

We found this little gem through Harvest Host on our way from CO to VA over Thanksgiving. Truly cannot say enough about the place and the staff. Swank decor, unique cocktails, fantastic food, and Nathan, the very knowledgeable GM/bartender, all made for a memorable evening on Buckeye Lake. Also happened upon some fellow Chicago Bears fans, which was a bonus. A little off the beaten pass, but definitely worth it!

It was an incredible experience from start to finish. I ordered the jambalaya, and it did not disappoint! The dish was packed with plenty of tender chicken and flavorful andouille sausage, with just the right amount of spice. It wasn’t dry at all—every bite was rich and well-seasoned.
As an appetizer, we tried the hot crab dip. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a fan of crab, but I decided to step outside my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I did. It was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat.
To pair with our meal, we chose a bold, full-bodied red wine that complemented the flavors beautifully.
My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and he loved it—the steak was juicy, and the cheese perfectly melted.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy flavorful Cajun food and more, Hereinafter is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

We’ve lived in Licking County for 10 years, yet my wife & I hadn’t found a local restaurant that we loved… that we want to go back to repeatedly… til now!
We love the atmosphere of Hereinafter! Classy, yet welcoming & unpretentious. And we love that there are no TV’s. It really feels like you’re somewhere else… or even some time else. A perfect date night spot.
The food is absolutely incredible! Everything we’ve gotten has been delicious! And it’s fun to see what tweaks they make to their menu so you can try new items.
And the drinks!! Ben & his staff make the best cocktails!! I can’t even begin to explain everything that goes into making their drinks! They literally make their own, special ice just for their cocktails.
So glad we found Hereinafter.

My new favorite place! Stopped in while I was in town visiting for a family dinner before heading back to Chicago. Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, and food was excellent as well. Just a short drive off of I-70…don’t miss this absolute gem if you’re in the area.

Such an amazing addition to the lake!! We had a wonderful time and were blown away by the staff, atmosphere, food, and of course the drinks. Highly recommend the bourbon street Brussels sprouts and the charcuterie board. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Cute place..great cocktails…nice people. Food was absolutely deplorable…my grandson ordered the perch…was way undercooked…cold inside and very “fishy”…steak was served rare when it was ordered medium…it went back to the kitchen…came back cooked but under seasoned and bland. 6 of us…not one person enjoyed their meal. Would go back but only for the atmosphere and cocktails…

Wow!!!! Exceeds expectations in every way.. How amazing to find this gem.. Romantic for a date night or fun vibe for a weekend drink with friends.. the menu is French with a gourmet twist making every bite delicious.. there is also a brunch menu with shrimp n grits and biscuits and gravy and so much more.. ask about all the events like cocktail lessons wine tasting pairings wine club soo much fun to have. Go see Nick who is the super professional with amazing suggestions and pointers and brings his great spirit to the table making the night an unforgettable experience.. I’d just say this is more than a must try but for me it is my fun time drink dinner destination no matter the weather this is the place to be.
