Have no complaints! Red beans and rice, very tasty. The jerk chicken bowl, wonderful, black beans with rice. Plus sour cream, lettuce tomato, and, avocado. I chose the mild sauce. The fried catfish, with yams and cabbage, and the shrimp tacos with red beans and rice and banana pudding. All done extremely well. I Definitely will be back. No worries, just an enjoyable meal. Support our local business, you’re not going to find any better out there than right here!

I grew up in a Caribbean household, so I know what AUTHENTIC stew chicken, rice, and peas taste like. This was not it. The “stew chicken” felt like a wannabe stew chicken, and the rice was overly peppery and tasted NOTHING like rice and peas. After the first two letdowns, I didn’t even bother touching the cabbage. On top of all that, the presentation was disappointing. Honestly, I would never eat from here again. 2/10 for effort, 0/10 for flavor.

The food, the atmosphere, and the staff are all fantastic, but let me tell you why this place deserves five stars (and honestly, I wish I could give it six).
I brought a vegan friend along, and he ordered from the vegan menu. His dish mistakenly came with cheese and milk. These things happen, and to be fair, it was still fully vegetarian. But what really impressed me was how the staff handled it: they were kind, sincerely apologetic, immediately refunded the dish, and even offered him another meal on the house. It was an honest mistake met with truly exceptional customer service, gracious, professional, and human. That’s rare.
Now, let’s talk about my food: the chicken was absolutely incredible, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of that unmistakable island flavor. Every bite tasted like it was straight from a backyard grill in Kingston. The atmosphere is pure Jamaica, from the music to the colors to the laid-back vibe. You don’t just eat here—you feel like you’ve traveled. And the staff? Genuinely warm, fun, and attentive without ever being overbearing. I’ll be back for sure. My frien ld who isn’t vegan got shrimp and loved it too.

Went to Mama’s for a change of pace as they serve Jamaican food. I ordered the 1/4 white meat jerked chicken, red beans and rice, and Mac and cheese. I really enjoyed the entire meal and would order it again. The staff was quite pleasant as were the other customers. Every time someone new came in they greeted us. I will likely go back to try other things on the menu.

Even if you aren’t in the area, make your way over here! You will not be disappointed. This food was SO on point. We ate a bit of everything and it was ALL AMAZING! The Owner and family even stopped to speak with us. Wishing them blessings and consistent customers all of 2024! Smoothie were super fresh too. We parked across the street and walked over, it wasn’t bad.

My eldest son brought food back to the room for his new Sailor brother and myself on 02~07~2025…I enjoyed the oxtails they were tender with the right amount of seasoning to flavor, but I had to take the juice from the meat for my rice & beans. It was too bland for me, so they picked me up some Tabasco and that was IT!!! I’m not a yam eater, but I ate a few and they were soft as well as delicious…Again, not a real sweat eater, but they weren’t overly sugary like most, so definitely stop when in town…Not able to rate service nor atmosphere since I didn’t go…

I really wanted to give this place a better rating! The flavor of the food was really good, however the oxtails were not good!! They were tough and hard. I’ve never had tough oxtails. They weren’t tender at all. You can even tell in my pic below. They look and taste overcooked. I felt like I was eating a well done steak. Listen, this restaurant is my go to. This food is always piping hot. I’m ordering from Wisconsin and this food is never cold. I love that. It’s always fresh and good. Only thing I would like is for them to season the curry a bit more. But other than that it’s good.

Never trying this again it lacked flavor and had weird texture. The interior looked like an industrial warehouse and was confusing. It smelled like toilet never coming back here again!! Try queens Caribbean kitchen in antioch would recommend going there instead and has real flavor and everything is made fresh. The location is in downtown antioch
