Extra credit: Ask for a beer-mosa
From the appetizers to the main dish, everything is elegantly presented and served. We loved every bite of our meal, the quesabirra was tender, juciy, and mouth watering. The mole enchiladas were exquisite! The mole sauce was truly authentic and oh, so flavorful!
Thanks to Nestor and our waitress Ariana was very polite and on point!
Dessert, was just heavenly…
The decor is nice.
I thought it was a nice touch that refried black beans (is what it looked like, but unsure) were served with chips and salsa upon being seated. They beans and salsa were a bit too bland, therefore were not the best compliment to the type of tortilla chips that were served. Perhaps all that was missing was a little salt?
Our meal was beautifully presented (photo included). There is an extensive wine list offered. I ordered a margarita. It was good, but not worth $10.
The enchiladas me and my guest ordered were good. Short rib meat is offered as a meat option, and is delicious, as was the chicken enchiladas! However the beans and rice were only okay.
I also didn’t care much for the seating. Its wide open to accommodate the most guests, but not much privacy for the guests while eating. We felt like we were almost sharing a table with the party seated next to us.
It was a good dinner all in all. We may try this restaurant for breakfast.
They brought fresh chips, salsa and a delicious bean puree/dip with queso fresco. I fell victim to the chips and beans. Devoured them, which did leave me a bit full as my meal arrived. But I regret nothing.
We started with the calamari, which was crispy and plentiful. For dinner, I had the sea bass with corn and poblano risotto. I loved the option of classic Mexican dishes alongside fish, steak, chicken mole, and others. Best of all worlds in an elevated food and dining experience. Fish had a delicious crispy to the skin with tender meat. The risotto had a touch of sweet from the corn that added a nice contrast to the salt of the fish.
The real winner for us was the wine. We opted for a red from Valle de Guadalupe. I hate to admit it but I had not had a wine from the region before. It was delightful.
The wait staff was super friendly and attentative. They genuinely wanted to ensure we were enjoying our meal.
I think it’s safe to say we’ll be back. I do hope Vista and the North County crowd discover this gem of a restaurant.
