I host a women’s bar hop every other Friday, and this was our first night exploring Cleveland Park. I picked three spots for the group: Nanny O’Brien’s, Atomic, and Little Blackbird. I had no idea Little Blackbird would completely steal the show.

I used to have a little wine bar in my neighborhood before I moved to D.C., one of those cozy spots with big chairs and no reservations needed. I assumed Little Blackbird would be that kind of place. It is not. It is so much more. When we arrived, the place was packed and they were fully booked. I figured we would just move on, but the manager, who was absolutely phenomenal, took my name and number anyway. About thirty minutes later, she called to say they had a table for us on the other side of the restaurant. It was technically a different concept, but they still served the full Little Blackbird menu. That gesture alone said everything about their service.

Once we sat down, it only got better. Their playful wine pairings are such a fun twist. I went with the Cheeto pairing, which was phenomenal, and a few others tried the Reese’s and Smarties ones. We learned they even do a Girl Scout Cookie pairing in March, and I already know I will be back for that. The staff are passionate about wine and happy to let you sample even the delicate, higher end pours. It feels like they want you to have a genuine experience, not just a glass of wine.

Even though it was a bar hop night and food was not really on the plan, I ended up ordering the gnocchi, which changes seasonally. The fall version was incredible, served in a pumpkin squash sauce with pumpkin seeds and a parmesan cream that sounded odd but worked perfectly. Every bite was rich and balanced.

If I could give six stars, I would. The food, the wine, and the service were all phenomenal, but what really stood out was how much fun they make it. It felt playful, elevated, and just special. Little Blackbird made our night and will definitely be part of future bar hops.

I rarely write reviews for restaurants however my experience at LBB last night was 5 stars on all accounts. The ambience and food were great. The service at all levels, hostess, management, and waiter were all pleasant and extremely helpful. It’s not a cheap dinner, but a great place for a date night or a little treat.

Absolutely LOVE this new wine bar in Cleveland park! The only problem is that it opened after we moved away from the neighborhood. It has an adorable interior design and atmosphere and the service is 11/10 including the hostess. Our server (wish I could remember her name) was so professional and warm, and the wine pairing was lovely. We especially liked the scallops and the gnudi. Excellent place for a weekend date night or a special occasion like an anniversary. It’s a small space and there isn’t much parking in the area so don’t expect to walk in on a Friday – make a reservation and take the metro to Cleveland park. It’s a 3 min walk away.

Little Blackbird is our favorite restaurant in Cleveland Park! We have already been 5 times since it opened a few months ago. The food is outstanding, complemented by an extensive wine selection with perfect pairings for each dish. If you don’t want to do one of the pairings suggested on the menu, the server will provide different suggestions as well. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. The excellent service and positive vibes make every visit a wonderful experience every time. My husband and I like to sit at the bar to be served by Kyle, the fantastic bartender who is so knowledgeable about wine. He always explains the characteristics about the wine we are drinking and how it pairs with the flavors in our dish. We learn so much every time we go in. Recently we went and had an awesome dessert pairing experience with 7 sweet treats and 6 wine pairings. This place is always crowded, so definitely make a reservation or show up close to opening to get a seat at the bar. Highly recommend if you are in DC looking for a great spot for dinner and drinks!

Came for a tasting as part of Tasting Collective and was glad I did. This was truly a great experience. The 5 course tasting had 2 courses (1st & 4th) that needed to be altered as I’m a pescetarian therefore, don’t eat duck. So in place of the duck paté, I was served figs and brie and in place of the duck breast I was served branzino. Each course was nicely paired with wine, again adding to this wonderful experience.

The fig and brie with the croutons was delicious, followed by the roasted pear with gouda, pecans and pomegranate sprinkles which was a delightful tasty plate. Who would think white chocolate and cauliflower purée would be delicious and pair beautifully with seared scallops? Clearly Chef Moore did and how right was he. That purée had folks at our table scraping to get all of it. The next course was a substitute dish and was beyond disappointing, especially compared to the other 3 courses. The branzino was BLAND, but the olives that were on the side were extra salty. I thought I was supposed to eat them together, but that didn’t help. I couldn’t even eat this course. The final course was a butterscotch pudding, a great way to end the meal/night.

Chef Moore was very welcoming. He answered questions and took pictures with the guests.

I’ll definitely add this to my list of restaurants.

The food was spectacular, the service was delightful and the atmosphere is so cute and fun!

Colletta was our server and she was incredible. We felt so taken care of and it was such a good experience. We’re already planning the next visit!

The butterscotch dessert wasn’t our cup of tea, it’s very Smokey with a touch of butterscotch but overall, we loved the little blackbird!

Looking forward to watching this little gem grow in the neighborhood!

I really wanted to like this place but it fell short on the wine and food. The service was good but the wines weren’t interesting and where they lacked creativity with the food, they overcompensated with salt. Three of the dips on the Mediterranean platter were okay but the olive tapenade was barely edible it was so salty. The apple and burrata salad was boring. Most of the flavor for the sausage appetizer and flank steak entree came from salt. Ultimately, this wine bar lacked a point of view and doesn’t bring anything new to the table.

Such a fun experience! We told our waitress/sommelier, Megan, to take the wheel and she did not disappoint! Her knowledge and enthusiasm about wine was contagious! We will definitely be back and requesting Megan.

I’ve NEVER had better service than with Yousuff at Little Blackbird. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and pairings, he’s also super charismatic and really added to our experience. We will be coming back again and again thanks to Yousuff!!
