There are two chinese takeouts on my block and I have always preferred Golden city. Ever since new owners took over, the food is just average…isn’t the best nor the worst in town. Ordered about 3-4 times since last summer and now I rarely order Chinese takeout since their food is hit or miss. I really miss the previous owners because their food tasted way better in my opinion.

Been ordering from here for years. Recently it seems like a whole different place. I don’t know if I have just had bad luck when ordering and there are new cooks or they sold the place but the food is bland and lacking in flavor. The lo mein has no flavor and barely any meat-heck… Even barely any vegetables. The noodles are pale and dry in comparison to the lo mein they’ve served for years. So very disappointed.

Food was absolutely exceptional. I asked for a hot and spicy beef. I asked what it came with and they told me. I asked them to make it very spicy and they didn’t disappoint. I was visiting the neighborhood but if I lived nearby I would visit regularly. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Good portion, good price, great taste.

I just placed my first order ever from this place. The crab Rangoon is amazing! Esp with the sweet and sour sauce. I like how they’re shaped like little triangles instead of the same shape as wontons. Got pepper steak with pork fried rice and there was a little too much onion in my plate but the taste of the rice was good. So many Chinese places have bad tasting rice but this one’s good! I’m happy and they just won a new customer! Also got a free can of Pepsi which I never asked for but I’ll take it!
Con: they told me it would be about half hour wait, it was 45 mins. And anyone who suffers from hAngry knows that those 15 mins can last a lifetime but it is all good Cuz the food was good!
2nd time ordering: I got the chicken in garlic sauce and whoa! It is so good! There is the right mixture of veggies to chicken and the sauce is a little spicy but not too spice nor is it bland like other Chinese food restaurants in the area. Did I mention their rice is good? Well their rice is delicious!

I ordered from Durango n city n ask my husband to pick it up n by accident he walk in n ask to pick up a order of boneless rib n instead of being honest n saying we never order they took the order n stole a order that was meant for the business cross the street n then when i call they disregard the matter n clicked

Just ordered delivery for the first time and it was excellent. Everything was fresh and well made. The fried items were crisp but not the least bit greasy. The fried rice and lomein noodles were delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Not bad but not excellent either, it’s your average cheap Chinese place – for $8.75, you can get yourself a lunch special that includes a plate + soda/egg roll.
Wouldn’t recommend the pork fried rice that came with the lunch special – go for the white.
