I had a great experience at Phoenicia pizza! I actually had the opportunity of meeting the owner and he was very friendly with me. He personally made me a chicken parm grinder and it was absolutely amazing. If you are looking for good pizza/italian I highly recommend coming here!!

We only had a little time to scoff something down at lunchtime and this was a perfect spot to grabe a slice and drink to dine in or take away. The outside patio wasn’t set up yet. If it had been, the 4 stars would have been 5. Great selection of pies, and they heat it up (hot-hot, yes!) in a small oven behind the counter. The garlic knot was really good, too. They also have salads and desserts in cases near the register. I wish pizza boxes hadn’t been piled up in the dining area – felt very crowded with them in that small space. Staff was friendly and they were busy when we went. They kept up with everything. Definately a local joint, I would recommend.

Our Top 5 pizzas from around the world (seriously)

Third trip back to verify and yes, this place is awesome. Fresh ingredients and a combination of baking techniques that make for delicious pizza. Google won’t upload the entire length of our video review unfortunately but we love the positive welcoming staff as well. Strongly suggest a stopover for a slice (or 5) of this spot.

A+ crew!

Stopped in here on a snowy day when Phoenicia Diner was closed. Holy cow is it great pizza! Classic plain slice had a crispy crunch that held its own when folded, Grandma Vodka pizza was delicious, and you have to try the Roswell!!

WOW! I feel like this pizza spot was transplanted from Brooklyn! Everything we ordered was stellar. The grandma pizza is one of the best I had, exploding with flavor Garlic knots are soft and chewy in the middle. Onteora hot hero with grilled chicken, mozzarella, pesto, pepper with perfectly toasted bread. Loaded waffle fries crispy. I’m shocked this amazing eatery is located in such a remote area. HIGHLY recommend!

The food was great, the staff is so nice, service was quick and good, and it’s such a nice place to sit for a while! We got the Grandma alla Vodka pizza and inhaled it.

If you want a great slice, drive straight by Phoenicia Pizza 28 and head east a few more miles to Village Pizza in Shokan. The bottom line about Phoenicia Pizza is simple: they have no love of pie. I’ve given the joint several tries, and each time I’ve been sadly disappointed. I have really wanted to be wrong, but this place is seriously lousy. Thick puffy crust, way too much tomato goop, an indistinguishable amount of cheese. None of it hangs together. Just a wet slice. Each time. Every time.

For the love of Caesar, even if the place is “Family Owned and Operated,” there is a complete absence of anything pizza-family feeling about it. Even if Mother and Father happen to own the business, the very last thing this place feels like is a “Mom and Pop” shop, as they want you believe. It’s just a money wheel whose product is low in taste and lacking in quality. Seems more like a family with hefty financial backing took a once really good pizza place (like Danielle’s was), updated it with the newest electro-techno gadgets, and totally messed up the end product. I mean, who can afford to mass mail color brochures advertising 2 for 1 specials every three months? (Granted, I’ve been a sucker twice.) You’ve gotta be seriously bankrolled to drive such a meh place so hard.

This is just one of those location-privileged joints seeking to cash in on blind hungry tourists who don’t know any better (even if you’d think folks from the city—coz pizza, hello—would). To do good pizza business you’ve gotta love pizza first. Then, you make the money. Product first, profit second. Spare me the cute names of dishes like “Shokan,” “Hudson,” “Reservoir” that scream Not From Here But Desperately Seeking to Cash In Like I Am. There are no local vibes here at all. Actually, there’s no vibe here at all, except ka-ching. They could just as well be selling tennis balls, soap, or floor mats.

You wanna great slice? One that’s got flavor, texture, and that intangible local pizza grit? A place that leaves you with a mmmmm good feeling? Where a pizza joint feels like a pizza joint? Head on down to Village Pizza, 3091 Route 28, right next to Fruition Chocolate. That’s where you’ll find the true love of pie and feel real good about dropping the workers a buck or two into the real tip jar.

Placed a large over the phone order as soon as they opened and they made all the pizzas (12) quickly. They did two delicious gluten free pizzas and all the toppings for all pizzas were tasty and good portions. Fantastic pizza!

Ok RUN don’t walk to this place!! Pizza was out of this world. The crust was crunchy and the varieties were amazing. Buffalo chicken pulled pork and ricotta toppings just to start. Garlic knots amazing and meatballs delicious! The help were so sweet and friendly. Family owned and operated!!! Can’t say enough great things about it

We stopped by craving a couple slices and we’re thrilled to see their amazing selection of pizza & pin wheels. I had the grandma slice, which was a garlic pizza with chunky sauce on top. The crust was soft snd chewy under the sauce and crispy on the bottom. Pretty amazing. We also has a couple of broccoli pinwheels that we’re stuffed with ricotta, veggies & seasoning. Definitely worth a stop!!
