Piggybacking off of my aunt Vera;
I came in later that afternoon and witnessed even more of Cayla’s heart for hospitality, and it truly stayed with me. I watched as she helped guests put on their jackets, making sure they were comfortable, and then personally walked them out to their cars — not because she had to, but because she genuinely cared. Those small, thoughtful moments spoke volumes about who she is.
What made it even more meaningful is that this wasn’t new behavior. This is the same young woman I saw on Saturday, walking every single guest out to their cars in the rain. While most people would rush inside to stay dry, Cayla chose to stand in the rain so her guests wouldn’t have to. In today’s world, that kind of service is rare. It wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t forced — it was sincere, selfless, and full of heart.
Cayla is truly a pleasure and an absolute blessing to everyone she encounters. Off the Hook in Zachary is incredibly lucky to have her, and every guest who walks through those doors is just as fortunate. This is the kind of hospitality that people never forget — and the reason they always come back.
Best service by a mile, beyond friendly staff and awesome food. The Gumbo is top notch!! The chicken tenders (we get the platter) are the best we have ever had here in Louisiana.
This is now my favorite place to eat!!!
Man, I LOVE this place!!!!!
What stood out most wasn’t just the delicious food or the efficient service — it was the heart that fills that building. Watching Cayla lead her team with such care, confidence, and compassion was truly something special. She didn’t just manage the floor; she connected with people. Every guest interaction was filled with warmth, every conversation carried patience, and every detail showed intention. No one felt rushed. No one felt overlooked. Everyone felt welcome — like they belonged.
Her team mirrored that same spirit beautifully. They worked together with genuine smiles, kindness, and pride in what they do, creating an atmosphere that felt comforting and joyful all at once. It was one of those experiences that stays with you long after you leave — the kind that reminds you what real Southern hospitality looks like and how powerful it is when leadership is rooted in love, respect, and service.
I literally just left there after work. It was 4:30pm on November 5, 2025. First of all, the speaker doesn’t work great, I could not hear very good and kept asking her to repeat. The speaker needs to be fixed..
The lady didn’t read my order back to me, so I had to get her to do it for me when I got to the window. The lady at the window was super unprofessional complaining about her job. I could hear everything. I got the fried fish platter and a shrimp Poboy.. of course I had to check my stuff, because I was missing my drink, my sauces and my fries for my fish plate. I informed them and they gave me the items that I ordered. Everything looks really good, but when I get home and start eating my fish, I can tell that it has been cooked probably this morning when they opened and has been sitting out all day. It taste like old fish.. you guys GOTTA get it together and be consistent otherwise you’re gonna lose great customers like me whom live In Zachary 🙂
