I would like to strongly recommend everyone in Calhoun and in neighboring areas to stop what they are doing or eating, and head on over to El Cubano Food Truck Restaurant for a bite.
I was floored by the authentic tastes, incredible service, and warm ambience. From the recommendation of a strawberry matcha latte to the ordering of some maduros (sweet plantains), the entire meal was a delight from start to finish. It was so good I went back for a second time within 24 hours of my first visit to try other things on their menu.
Their ‘make your own bowl’ option is phenomenal (pick a protein, a rice base, black beans, and 3 additional toppings) and is where I started. On my second trip, I decided to go for the Miami-style pork steak con arroz morro y tostones and it was simply delightful. Their menu changes daily, and to my surprise they also do a buffet style lunch on several days of the week. I was pleasantly surprised that they had hamburger, hot dog, and a diverse sandwich section too. And did I mention their cafe options are delectable too? Try a large maple-glazed latte on a cold day.
For those interested in trying Cuban food, you cannot go wrong with the meat options here. And if you are vegan, they have a great limited menu of options for you as well. Lastly, if you are struggling to pick between yuca fries and the salchipapas, you can always ask the staff for their recommendations- they will not steer you wrong. Overall, I hope this place is seen as a staple in Calhoun for years to come.

This is our go to for cuban food. Excellent flavors and good size portions. I ordered the picadillo a la Cubana it is my favorite meal. The service and atmosphere is very welcoming. A must place to eat in Calhoun.

If you really enjoy latin cuisine with an atmosphere de gran SABOR. This is definitely THE PLACE. This was my second visit and each plate was an experience. The vibe fits for any occasion and the music selection is ON POINT. Special shout to the house DJ, buena musica broda. Staff is very knowledgeable and engaging. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING .

If you’re looking for something different and delicious in Calhoun, you’ve just found it. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The service was friendly, helpful, and quick. BUT THE FOOD!! WOW!! The food was delicious! Full of flavor, fresh, exciting, and memorable. My 14 and 12 year old kids were skeptics to start, but are now big fans.

Me and my fiance were here doing electrical work and ended up getting Cuban sandwiches. That was the best sandwich of my life and I’m not even exaggerating. The staff is extremely sweet. And the food is absolutely amazing. If you’re considering coming here do it!! You’re missing out if not. This restaurant itself is super pretty, awesome decorating.

Wow. Just wow. The epitome of a hidden gem. We came in for lunch and had our expectations blown away. Immediately when walking in, we noticed the welcoming and stylish decor. Then came the food. THE. FOOD. We have had a lot of Cuban. It’s one of our favorites. This has surpassed ALL others. Our food was fresh and incredibly flavorful. Everything was cooked to perfection and plated with care. I don’t give many “6 Star” reviews. But this place is truly special. If you come to or thru Calhoun Ga, hungry…and don’t stop here, you did not understand the assignment. It’s not just good. It’s fantastic. Like truly. The pork is perfection. The black beans are as good as I’ve ever eaten…. You just can’t go wrong. A different special entree every night. The Masitas are amazing. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. I am so glad Calhoun has a spot for great Cuban food. From the cuban bread to the pork and ham and amazing sauce on the Cubano Sandwich, this place just rocks!! There was no wait for lunch, and the staff was friendly and quick. It took maybe five minutes for my food. I will definitely stop in again!!

A great restaurant with delicious food! Mojito Chicken is flavorful and moist. Black beans were seasoned perfectly! Flan was really delicious. Only wish we lived closer so we could eat there more often!
