Really just stellar on all counts. Best Mexican food I’ve had in Philly. Love el taco. The recently added soups and corn pie are so so delicious I would eat here every day if I could but my wife and I limit ourselves to once a twice or month. Usually twice. Or thrice if I’m being honest. And we can usually stretch it into three meals, the portions are well worth the price. El taco sponsor us? We tell everyone we know how good this place is like.. just go and try whatever sounds good the flavor will not let you down. We also give our cat a small piece of chicken every time we order- she’s our el taco cat. And maybe, an unofficial mascot.

Chef Luna has managed to find the soul of his family’s country and capture it’s exquisite flavors. Ask about the overnight oats with a pineapple dessert. It’s the best in the world. Spruce Street El Taco. Spruce Street El Taco. It’s worth saying twice.

Such a pleasant atmosphere, clean friendly and plenty of indoor seating. First time eating here and I ordered the crispy tacos with pork. They were fantastic! Ingredients were fresh and presentation was perfect.

Quick service and delicious food! I love that they have a pretty spacious dining area and that I can customize my tacos just the way I like it! We tried their special Al Pastor and it came with a side of warm grilled pineapple. The crispy tacos were loaded to the brim with ingredients. I like that they have so many sauce selections as well!

The menu offered a wide range of flavors and ingredients, and the presentation of the dishes was impressive. The tacos were well-prepared and packed with fresh ingredients, which added a delightful burst of flavors in every bite. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, making for a satisfying meal.
However, I must note that while the food at El Taco was undoubtedly tasty, it did not quite match the authentic flavors I have experienced in traditional taco joints. As a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine, I was hoping for a more genuine taco experience. The flavors seemed to have been slightly adjusted to cater to a broader audience, which is understandable considering the restaurant’s popularity and target demographic.
Despite this minor discrepancy, El Taco still offers a great dining experience. The ambiance is lively, the service is prompt, and the food, although not entirely authentic, is still enjoyable and well-executed. I would recommend El Taco to those seeking a fusion-style taco experience or those looking for a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family.
Overall, El Taco is a solid choice for a satisfying meal. While the tacos may not be as authentic as some may expect, the overall quality, flavors, and friendly service make it a worthwhile visit.

It was a long day after my doctors appointment I was hungry tired and cold I needed a warm place to sit eat and contemplate what I had just been told..I walked from 34th street to El taco on 38th street just wanting a warm place to sit eat and think.. If the food is good as the reviews that would be a blessing…however I don’t know if the food is any good because after I placed my order I was told I had to take it to go because they a party coming and could not accommodate me eating in. I left rather then to eat standing out in the cold.. one more piece of bad news added to my day thanks.

I got the Mexican fries w/blackened shrimp and creamy chipotle. Perfect amount of spice and food; can totally share. They are generous with the amount of shrimp and they are large and deveined!!!! Highly recommend.

OMG THE CHURROS ARE SOOOO GOOD!!!! I’ve been craving churros with cream inside and found this place ordered online it literally was still piping hot when it got to me…and each churro is so big one is enough. Picture shows it halfway gone, I was trying to show how it has cream completely throughout it.

First time here! I loved the freshly made tacos everything was delicious. But I have one complaint…..the portion size of the sides the should come a Lil bigger I ran out of Salsa and had a bunch of chips left over….oh yeah the salsa…..was to runny it did have no chunks of tomato or onion it was to loose. But other than that my chicken tacos was to die for and the service was nice and the store was clean

In the mood for tacos today. Ordered the three Crispy Taco meal with ground beef and one of the two “hot” sauces (not Trinidad Scorpion). Very good and very spicy! Complimented by chips and queso and washed it down with a fountain Coke. Delicious!
