Cava Wine Bar & Wood Grill in New Canaan is exactly what you hope for in a high-end Italian restaurant and wine bar. The food was truly exquisite. I’m vegetarian, and they had no problem modifying my pasta to fit my diet without sacrificing any flavor being rich, balanced, and beautifully plated. Everyone at the table loved their dishes; it was gourmet Italian from start to finish, not a single miss.
The service was just as impressive: fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Our server checked in at the right times, kept drinks topped off, and knew the menu and wine list well.
The dining room is clean, warm, and inviting, with the kind of cozy, upscale décor you want for a date night, special occasion, or a nicer dinner out.

We were invited to Cava Wine Bar, and we were excited to be in one so famous restaurant between Harvest, Scena, and Southbay. We loved Southbay, and we had very high expectations, and they didn’t disappoint us. Every dish was delicious, perfect portions. Cocktails are strong and flavorful. 4 starts only because the desert menu wasn’t very impressive, but mango and raspberry sorbet are delicious.

Surprisingly good brunch at a great price. $19 prix fixe 2-course meal is a steal, especially given the quality of the food. We ordered Spicy Salmon Tartare and Crispy Brussels salad for apps and both were really fresh and really well done. For mains we got Pappardelle and Branzino, again both very tasty. Would definitely recommend. Be warned the online menu does not match the actual, several items have changed.

Whenever my husband and I travel from New York to Boston, we always make it a point to stop at CAVA in New Canaan. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and our go-to order is pizza and French fries which is consistently delicious. It’s the perfect indulgence for a road trip and an absolute must-visit!
