Amazing and affordable food ✓. Warm and welcoming staff ✓. Comfortable and family-friendly space ✓. My sister heard great things about Los Andanes, so we went there to celebrate her birthday. We had a fairly large group, including kids, and everyone loved the food and service. (Note: Make sure to call in advance for a larger group of 6+ so they can try to seat you together.)
They give you free chips and fresh mango salsa, which I would have gladly paid for. Definitely order the horchata or cucumber-lime agua fresca to drink. The carne asada fries were a perfect appetizer—highly recommend. We probably should have split a bunch of dishes, because the portions were VERY generous. I had the quesabirria as my main and the filling was not only delicious, but packed, and the consumé was flavorful.
At the end of the meal, our server surprised my sister with a birthday cake! Los Andanes went above and beyond to make sure she enjoyed her celebration. I’ve been to plenty of restaurants in Chicago for birthdays, but this one was memorable. Seriously, Los Andanes is the perfect spot for a casual meal or special occasion. Thank you, Los Andanes!!!

Omgggg this place was SO good. My friends and I wanted to support a Belmont Cragin small business and this did NOT disappoint. The carne asada tacos sent me straight to heaven and they were HUGE!!! So worth the money. The service was also really great! I can’t wait to go back.

I had a great feeling about this place based on the reviews. I was craving Mexican food in Wicker Park, and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was clean, and the owner was so kind. The food was fresh and made to order—the chips, salsa, and guacamole were delicious, and my friend’s steak tacos were packed with meat. The horchata was the best I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely return when I’m in the city. This family-owned business definitely deserves the attention. Must-try place!

Good spot for yummulicious mexican food!
First time I was here was about two years ago and I actually discovered how good the soup dish “sopa en su jugo” is through this place, ever since then It’s been a favorite order of mine even in other places that have it but this is the top spot. It’s filled with so much meat, bacon, beans and is just a warm perfectly salty bowl of comfort. I also loveeeee the salsa they give you at the beginning. I like how it’s a mango salsa and tastes so refreshing, the first time I tried it I considered asking if it could buy it by the pound haha. I’ve come on and off but the food is always consistent and tastes great making me crave it every now and then, that’s how you know a restaurant is good. The lady that’s always there serving is one of the owners and is always above and beyond, you can tell they are proud and care about their restaurant and customers a lot. If you want to support good people and eat good food this is the place! 🙂

Not a neighborhood I’ve ever visited before, but good reviews online made our decision for lunch easy. It did not disappoint. Our server (she also did everything else there but cook) was lovely, upbeat and attentive. She easily helped me accommodate my vegan dietary needs. And my burrito was delicious.
I would gladly make the drive there again to eat at Los Andanes.

This place is so great. Their business is suffering, to no fault of their own – please consider supporting them. Best chips and guac I’ve ever had. I got a taco dinner with three different meats, and they were all tender and well seasoned. The salsa verde is uniquely flavored The portions are huge. And the owner is so sweet and kind.

First time trying take-out from this nice little restaurant in Belmont Cragin, and it was so delicious! The Flautos as an appetizer was excellent- fresh pico de gallo and avocado on top. Also the chicken enchiladas were great, sauce was tasty and good amount of food, I think 4-5 enchiladas! Also tried the steak Torta. We’ll definitely be back to try more! Service was very fast and friendly

I cannot say enough good things about Los Andanes. We went for my cousin’s birthday lunch, and though it was a small place, they accommodated our party of 11 perfectly…. Started off with one of the best horchatas I’ve ever had. The food was awesome with generous portions. It’s impossible to stop eating the carne asada fries! And to call the staff friendly would be an understatement. They treated us like family. They let the bday girl wear a beautiful sombrero for a photo opp and even got her a bday cake!!! Excited to go back!
