went for valentines 75 dollar 4 course meal and feel very disappointed. bread was standard ok appetizers descent if a bit salty. then the main course salmon was a bit fishy and plain but cooked well. did not notice any raspberry or balsamic. lobster pasta….. looked smelled and tasted like old crayfish tails….. then the desert which was left uneaten and they just apologized. didnt even ask about it when both of us said we didnt like it and didnt want them bagged to go like they knew what they served. the chocolate cake tasted fake like a little Debbie just dryer certainly artificial and cheap store bought. the blackberry cobbler was warm ish and tasted canned at best with artificial generic fake vanilla ice cream. maybe blue bell but for 75 dollars…. toss in loud music leaking window units fake flower pedals and the atmosphere wasn’t romantic. some plastic serving spoons and plastic champagne shooter well yea. we feel ripped off and will not go back. a few years ago we had a good experience here. something changed.

I hate to make this kind of review of a long standing family owned restaurant. But alas, here we are. We really wanted to enjoy this. It would be great to support a small business locally and we don’t have a ton of good privately owned restaurants in our area. But this was bad.

We were there on a Friday night at 6:30 pm and the restaurant was almost empty which, ok, not an issue. But I mention this because with 3 tables sat and a total of maybe 9 people in the restaurant you would expect perfect execution. Instead, we got appetizers coming out at different times, steak temp way way off, one steak entirely the wrong cut from what ordered, and a side dish (Brussels sprouts) that didn’t show up until we were 80% done with our meals. And those were really not good. The filet mignon was tough and extremely under seasoned. You could immediately tell it wasn’t a very good quality cut of meat. At the price point you’re at, serving a $45 steak… I would just expect, at minimum, I get what I ordered and at the temp I ordered it. Especially with so few people in the restaurant.

The dessert was okay, the appetizer was ok. Nothing that stood out.

We, unfortunately. will not go back.

Simply excellent! Also, try the quail appetizer, it’s unreal.
Grab a bottle of Nickel and Nickel at Specs down the road. Saul my waiter was exemplary, fantastic service.

My recent visit to The Veranda was, without a doubt, one of the most exceptional dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a truly memorable evening. The ambiance is simply sublime: the dim lighting, soft music.
The service was impeccable. The staff is attentive and professional, with a deep knowledge of every dish. They took the time to answer my questions and offer personalized recommendations, making me feel truly cared for.
But the real star of the show was the food. Each dish is a work of art, both visually and in taste.

Hubby and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner last night and we wanted to try a new place. We are so happy we tried The Veranda. The atmosphere was so comforting and intimate. Chef T was wonderful. I love that she was there to take our order. Not being able to meet her would’ve been a loss. From beginning to end we enjoyed ourselves. Wait staff was attentive and kind. Our food was delicious. We ordered the crab cake and the fire and ice shrimp as an appetizer. So so good. That sauce over the shrimp – I need a bottle of it. Hubby had the glazed salmon and I had the mahi pontchartrain. So so good. .

And of course we saved room for dessert. Key lime pie and crème brûlée. I have always always always wanted to try crème brûlée and I am so glad my first experience was here. So creamy so delicious. With the beautiful crack of the brûlée sugar. Yum.

Hubby and I just wanted to sit and enjoy the ambiance and get a tour of the place. It was definitely an experience. Thank you Chef T and the entire staff. We told you we’d be back and Lord willing we will be.

Peace and Blessings

Wanted to really enjoy this place, but was very let down. The interior needs major updates. Ordered a filet mignon, could hardly cut it and very tough. Husband ordered stuffed flounder and was just stuffing basically.
Ordered a couple glasses of wine and could tell it had been uncorked for some time…wish I had a better experience.

Hidden gems are hard to find. In a world where everyone has an opinion, great things could be tight in front and be missed. Family service, with personal deliverance, characteristics of people loving individuals at culinary service. We hope you will enjoy, as much as we did.

Even the microwaved leftovers today are amazing and juicy. My husband and I were blown away that this little secret is tucked away in Kingwood. We started with a Caesar salad and a wedge salad. Refreshing and well done. But I had the filet mignon with the mushroom Dijon cream, and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. My husband had the strip with a peppercorn cream sauce. He will not stop talking about it as the best steak of his life. It’s BYOB, so we just picked up a bottle to split on the way to dinner.

We cannot wait to go back.

I don’t say this with any pleasure, but I just attended a business lunch here and was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered a fillet medium and had to eat around the edges because it was blood red. Terrible! And now my stomach is all torn up. Very unpleasant experience! And I’ve always enjoyed the restaurant.
