Fresno State Alumni Michael Smith and James O’Donnell had a dollar and dream. The two friends and fraternity brothers became successful party/club promoters in the college scene, but realized this wasn’t a sustainable career choice. So Smith and O’Donnell decided to put their marketing degrees to good use, cashing in their chips to open Kocky’s Bar and Grill. The name is an homage to their fraternity known for being confident and cocky as well as spelling things with the letter ‘K’. Kocky’s Bar and Grill, opened in August of 2011, is located in the heart of downtown Fresno and aims to sell the best wings in town.
Straightforward bar with TVs & a subtle sports theme offering chicken wings & burgers.

Back when this place first opened up I felt it was honestly worth it due to the fact they actually served JUMBO wings. I know I ain’t trippin when I would tell people to go there for those. And be confused when people said they stopped doing that. I had to find out myself and sadly its true. The wings are NOT JUMBO. Like at all sadly.
Now other than that the bartender that day I went in was very sweet she was welcoming and thats great for me. The bar was just opened up and everything was clean and well laid out. I did appreciate the way that I was treated and that goes a long way. I think you guys need to bring back the jumbo wings for the price we’ve got to pay. Other than that everything was cool.

This place was ok. The appetizers were actually pretty good. If you don’t get em during happy hour, you pay a lot more. The drinks were delicious (when they finally come) only one bartender and takes a long time to get service. the beer selection on draft is very limited. I might go back, but have to be for some special occasion.

Hello everyone! I’ve been a customer at Kocky’s over three years, I can not dispute the comments regarding customer service. I know the new guy server ( African American). is very professional, ethical, and very attentive! But regarding any comments about cold food, I highly doubt. Kocky’s Bar & Grill does not serve cold food! The owners pride themselves and their business in food quality and that includes the temperature of their dishes. I’ve had just about everything I’ve never been served or heard a customer express poor food because of tempature or half cooked food. I love eating there and because of the quality of their food and sanitation, which brings me to my next debate experienced based! I was definitely at Kocky’s often last year and I did not once see any flies in the dining area, that is a dishonest disgraceful comment! I can’t dispute the customer service comments because I’ve had my share of experiences from a few waitresses as well. However, if you take you concerns to especially James, they will be addressed and resolved, from my experience. Kocky’s is peaceful non smoking, sanitized, bar & Grill. The food is good and premium because I don’t get sick. They make their sauces and dressings which I appreciate and they have a wide range of music for everyone! I’m not a bar person and I Organic so I don’t get sick/nauseous, but I love this place! So, I strongly & high recommend this place for anyone who enjoys a great time with overall mature people to converse with or simply just want some media, drinks and good food that definitely worth spending your money on! People go to Carl’s jr, burger king, mc Donalds and eat you have no clue for no care of the price. If you want some food with premium quality, if you care about what’s in your system and you a good time in addition to good drinkks! Please go to Kocky’s!!!! Btw, the onion rings are to die for!!! I’m going tomorrow for those, soup and Chinese chicken salad, amazing! I’ll come back to tell you about their chicken cheese dip ♥️! See you at Kocky’s! Have an amazing Day!

Their food here was really good! The wings, the burger and the chicken strips were fire! And our server? She was awesome, protect Susie at all costs lol not too many servers like her around, really helpful super patient and sweet. Thanks!

First time visiting this place. It is one of those places that you sit, get served, and pay your bill and leave. There is nothing special about customer service. I don’t like to be asked every 5 minutes how it is going, but at least checked once in a while.
The food was ok. The fries were a bit dry. My fault for not checking, but those have too much chili on it.
Price is reasonable. The parking lot is closed by or pay on the street. Not handicap accessible.
It is okay location.

Wow what a great experience!!! You gotta do the brunch !!! Music top tier. Had a guest dj. She was awesome as well. The dj kept the party lit. The customer service was amazing they helped everyone get to the best seats possible.

Dope vibe and a slower night on this Saturday because of the Fresno Fair I was told. Erin was a great server/bartender and she put me on to more events happening at the restaurant!
I got the half order of honey bbq wings and fries and it was perfect!

I’m mortified!!! I ordered the lunch special, grilled chicken wrap. There was some lettuce that fell on the side that I didn’t pay much attention to. When I finally noticed the dirt, I’ve already eaten almost the whole thing! They didn’t even bother to wash the lettuce before serving it!
Update: I don’t know if you guys are able to see my close-up photo bc it’s still “pending,” of course . You can go over to my Yelp review and see the dirt on the lettuce

Ok guys 1st let’s start off that this establishment is a little cute spot located in the heart of downtown Fresno. When we 1st walked in we were greeted and told we an stand where ( remember its small ) so we sat ourselves and were greeted immediately by our waitress. She brought our menus then 3min later she was back for our order. We hadn’t even looked at our menu but we got a couple of waters. Then when she came back a min later I asked if it was happy hour which it was and she showed me the specials. I ordered a drink and appetizer. ( see attached). Everything was brought out very quickly. The jalapeno poppers were just right. Tasty and not to much heat. The sweet potato fries came out with a sweet coconut sauce that was tasty. The wings were cooked perfectly. The sauces were amazing . My favorites were pineapple habenero. The Buffalo ranch , then kicking bbq. …. in that order.
I really appreciate our waitress she was great .looking forward to going back trying other sauces.
