It has been one year since my trip to the UK and one year since I’ve been to this restaurant on a whim and I still can’t forget this pasta. This is no understatement when i say the tomato vodka pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had! It was perfect and I’m very sad to be so far away from this restaurant. Not to mention the atmosphere was lovely and intimate. I will definitely come back the next time I visit the UK. Thank you La Sosta!

Underwhelming. Service was very slow. Our main course took ages to arrive. Food was ok but very expensive for what we had. Two courses, bottle of house wine came to £160. It felt like we had arrived into a “local” restaurant packed with regulars and we seemed an inconvenience to staff. Our table was not ready upon arrival and a makeshift table was set up in the middle of the restaurant with staff passing by with food orders. We’re highly unlikely to ever return.

Food was good. Portions were small and very expensive. Service was extremely slow. No ambience, limited menu, restaurant was cool. Decor is dated and need of refurbishment. No interaction from staff. Wouldn’t recommend as locally there is far better value for money. We spent £150 for a couple and weren’t still hungry but definitely not full up.

Amazing food and service with an extensive wine list. One of the best steaks I’ve had anywhere in the world, it was truly excellent. Partner had the fish main and raved about both the fish and the sauce. Was very quiet when we were there so not much atmosphere though it is a nice layout and could get lively on busier nights – definitely worth a visit for some fine dining in Derry

My wife and I are from the US and we visited Ireland back in September 2024, and La Sosta was one of the most special meals we had on this trip. For my primo, I had the ravioli with asparagus, and it was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. It reminded me of my trip to Italy! My wife’s primo was the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was great also. My secondo was the lamb with mint sauce, and my wife’s secondo was the chicken, bacon, and mozzarella dish. Our contorni were roasted potatoes, green beans, and aubergines. The house white wine and sparkling water paired well with the food. For dolci, I had panna cotta with raspberry sauce, and my wife had the gelato. It was fun to practice speaking Italian with the owner also. He made the experience authentic and uniquely Italian. The pace of dining here was leisurely and relaxing, all of the food was outstanding, and we left full and happy!
