Overall, this was a quality experience, especially for the location.
When I arrived, I waited about five minutes for someone to answer my initial question, but they were a little busy, so I didn’t mind too much.
The restaurant is pretty small, but has several tables that allow many small groups (2-3) to sit comfortably. If you have a ground larger than three, you have one option for a large table, but when the sun is out, it gets rather hot.
Once I placed my order, the pizza.and bread sticks came out rather quickly, which was very nice seeing how I had another engagement to get going to after I ate.
The pizza and cheesy bread sticks we’re pretty delicious, but the marinara lacked a lot of flavor. The marinara tasted about the same as tomato sauce. I added salt and it helped quite a bit.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you are in the Walsenburg or La Veta area, I would recommend trying this place out for sure.
They also do an all you can eat soup and bread sticks for $6.99. Now, that’s a pretty sweet deal.

Friendly owner and laid back atmosphere. The buffalo chicken pizza was good, defiantly a crispy thin crust style. The cheesing sticks were ok, but the marinara dipping sauce was a bit bland. There were also some flies buzzing about.

Pizza was delicious! Thin crust, made fresh, fresh lemonade or cucumber water or bottled cokes. Friendly, quick service 2 minutes off the freeway, back patio.

It was rather disappointing to drop almost $40 on a burned pizza ($20 thin crust- not requested just made thin) overcooked cheese sticks, and sour house lemonade. The atmosphere of the restaurant was odd as well, as if the owners couldn’t decide on Italian or Hippy theme. Our server was polite, but it was very odd to have our card requested for payment before we even were given our bill to see. We left a little hungry, but not wanting to bother with it more.

I am traveling across country and decided to stop in Walsenburg Colorado. I stayed at The Anchor Inn which is a very quaint and cozy, cute place. Right down the street I found this wonderful restaurant and during my stay I ate every meal there! The taco pizza is amazing and Barb’s breakfasts are so good. I could not stop eating it even though I was so full. I had to tell myself to put my fork down and walk away. Her cooking is intoxicating!! The owners Barb and Steve Johnson are also very friendly and treat everyone with love. I will definitely be back! She also has a nice beer garden in the back that is pet friendly! Go check her out!

What an unexpected experience! First of all, when you walk in, the warm friendly greeting alone, is worth the stop!! Southern hospitality right here in Colorado, and the delightful owner, Barb, is from Connecticut! They are so attentive and engaging while efficient and super clean. Sun tea and fresh squeezed lemonade started out and set the bar high! Our waitress was patient and sweet with an infectious smile! The cheesy breadsticks hot out of the oven were great! We chose pizza but there is a lot to choose from! I am a thin crust fan so i was in heaven with ample supply of fresh toppings! Super flavorful!!! To top it off we had homemade ice cream and she even gave her
recipe! Before we left, we asked if she would adopt us! The service, fresh food from scratch, and fellowship was more than we anticipated for our quick stop for a bite to eat!!! This place will not disappoint! Support this local gem!

Just had a truly amazing pizza at this place. So glad we made the detour into Walsenburg to try it. They have the absolute best, fresh squeezed lemonade served in an ice cold mason jar. The owner was super sweet to make us a half & half pie since we couldn’t make up on our minds and it was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are up this way.

We felt like family here! The pizza was incredible. Pepperoni and crust is made fresh every day. She even had gluten free options. Breadsticks were homemade deliciousness. Even the dessert was made fresh that morning. Definitely worth the short jaunt off the intrastate.

I absoluetly loved this place. It may be small. But it is very welcoming. The people were so sweet and i hope i can come again soon. The food was absolutely remarkable. From the handmade lemonade freshly squeezed every morning, to the fresh pizza, to the homemade peach ice cream. Walsenburg Pizza is all around amazing. I highly recommend you go here to eat and have a great time.

Our family is on vacation and we needed to stop for lunch. This pizza joint was THE perfect place for us to relax, enjoy some complimentary tea and water and eat the most scrumptious pizza. We had a large Barb’s Favorite and a large half and half supreme and pepperoni pizza. Within 15 min all of the pizza was gone and we felt so much better! Barb is precious and took care of us very well. We now know a place that we can stop at on the way again! Thanks Walsenburg Pizza!
