We stopped in for delicious coffee and lasted while roaming around nearby. It was a relaxing place to sit and visit while enjoying our hot beverages! The drinks are well made and staff was helpful and friendly!

I stopped by for a quick coffee between commitments and I am so glad I did! The barista recommended a phenomenal coconut mocha then told me they would make sure to make it look pretty for me. They were super nice, the atmosphere inside was so cool! I highly recommend using Midnight Coffee as your caffeine dealer 🙂

Since the new owners took over, this place just hasn’t been the same. Certain staff often seems frustrated, and no matter if it’s busy or not, it takes at least 15-25 minutes to get a drink and a sandwich (I’ve even waited 40 minutes before).
The coffee used to taste rich and flavorful with a nice aroma, but now it just doesn’t have the same quality. Gluten-free substitutions, which used to be free, now cost an extra $.50. I understand the charge, but it was nice before when they didn’t penalize people for a dietary need.
The sandwiches have also gone downhill—cheap-tasting bacon, dry overall, and not worth the price for the quality. For around $20 for just a drink and a sandwich, you’d expect the quality coffee emporium delivered. Unfortunately, the quality and experience have both declined, and it’s frustrating as a customer who used to really enjoy coming here. I use to tell everyone I knew that coffee emporium was my absolute favorite coffee shop! I saw a comment from the owners mentioning that more staff would be in at this time of year and there were three working yesterday, and with one table sitting and no other customers ahead of me, I still waited 35 minutes yesterday for two drinks and a sandwich. I would love to see this place not say things will be better in the future but genuinely provide the actions. I

Have been there a couple times and each time the latte was disappointing. Coffee tasted kind of sour – bitter and I wasn’t a fan. They do have Andy’s gluten free baked goods and the last time I had a gluten free sandwich there it was decent but not sure the food is the same now since it’s it became Midnight .

I wasn’t sure after reading recent reviews. But, the coffee taste pretty good, the location was clean, and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. I tried a pretty standard espresso drink but I’d get it again next time I’m in the area.

Automatic gratuity added for checks $50 & over. This was not a posted policy that i could see, nor did I see it online. This is a counter store, you order yourself at register with a cashier. The young ladies were friendly. Small, cute place. I was hoping it would be our go to place when visiting Univ of IA. It was 40 dollars with tip for 2 drinks, non coffee, and 4 sandwiches. As i promised my teens a non hotel breakfast. I didn’t get to try coffee or tea as the drinks would have pushed the total over $50. The grilled cheeses didn’t have melted cheese. The breakfast Sammy was decent. Peppery, garlic aioli makes it. Tipping is a choice, I wish the policy was different.

The young ladies who made and served my drink did such a great job. They were personable but at the same time professional. They did not rush but made a quality coffee drink for me! I will return next time I am in Coralville.

I really enjoyed both my mocha & my Breakfast Club (which is served on a grilled/toasted bagel).
I appreciated that the mocha wasn’t overly sweet.
Bonus: I enjoyed the barista’s music playlist.

I’ve been coming here since the opened. Despite the apparent owner change recently, I’ve noticed no change. I’ve only had a sandwich here maybe two times and it came out reasonably quick and as expected in quality. This is a coffee shop, and a quite good one at that. You want a quick bite, it works. You want a 3 course meal, you’re in the wrong spot. PS, I’m a Doc working intermittently in town, but don’t flaunt it like Dr. Dick Gerlieman in a prior negative review.

There was 4 of us. Got all our drinks and 3 of our food items. Asked about 4th item, a panini and the girl cooking said yes it’s in now. By now total is 50 minutes. Checked again and she said don’t even have an order for it. Did you pay for it? Showed receipt and she said oh that’s not a panini it’s a caprese lol. She said oh been so busy…… not my problem. I asked for money back cause had a wedding. She threw her arms up and went in side room. Cashier apologized and as leaving the cook said have a nice day in a different voice being real sarcastic. People behind us had same problem and she told them someone must have taken your stuff.
