Reviews
The Cal Italia is what they’re known for and I normally think fig and cheese is a great combo on pizzas but this one was a bit sweet. The prosciutto was also a bit chewy and not the best quality. Still a pretty good pizza but just too sweet.
The Purple Potato was promising as potato and bacon is a classic Italian combo as well. The potato was sliced pretty thinly so missing some crunchy texture. Flavor profile was pretty good. Crust was chewy on both.
I thought but pizzas were pretty good and nice to have more authentic options. The flavor overall was good but just missed the mark on execution. However, the big elephant in the room is the price. $25-26 per 12″ pizza is very pricey and I expected more for that price point. That’s what you expect to pay from a high end Italian restaurant.
Went twice, 1st time dine in during lunch and 2nd time togo during dinner. Couple tables both times and the interior was clean and well thought out. Just note that the A/C was set very low making it fairly cold inside for those planning on dining in.
Got to try 3 different slices over the two times (NY Wiseguy, NY Texan, & Detroit Red Top). Loved the Wiseguy and Red Top and would gladly get them again. Was more mixed on the Texan which I felt the BBQ sauce was too sweet and the brisket way too fatty. Slices are a good size though that’s to be expected for each one costing $7.50.
Will occasionally be visiting this place for the slices and luckily they do have a loyalty program available which hopefully provides good deals and promotions occasionally.
I do always get nervous when trying a restaurant when a famous chef has it name on it, as it is very typical for the price to be high because of the name of the person attached to it, but the quality fall short. Pizza here is expensive even as a as someone who has lived in NY, the pizza is is priced as top tier pizza joints, with slices going for $7, a 12in pie being around $23 and a 20in pie being around $35-$38.
I can say that the quality was there, along with great service with a very friendly staff , and the experience was worth the price I paid for the pizza.
Let me start with the meatballs which I got as an appetizer, they were simply delicious, with marinara sauce they used standing out on its own packed with flavor, and pairing perfectly with the meatball. Highly recommended getting this an appetizer!
Next, was the slice of the Drunken Italian! As a former New Yorker, and someone who has had pizza from some the best shops in NY, the drunken Italian stands with all those top tier pizza joints slices. It is packed with flavor and the vodka cream sauce simply stands out as an ingredient that simply elevates the slice. If you come here, this is the one slice you must get or you’re simply missing out. I also got a slice of the wise guy, which was also really good. I don’t typically love slices with a lot of different toppings, but this combination worked well, and each ingredient complemented each other well.
I also got a pepperoni pizza, to share with my family, and while it didn’t standout relative to other pepperoni pizzas I’ve had in Dallas, it was still really good.
After coming here and getting both slices and a pie my recommendation would be to get slices as there is a very good variety of options, and while good a whole pie is very expensive. I will though splurge on a Detroit style drunken Italian. My only negative feedback is I don’t believe you can get full pies unless they are a NY style, and that was not made clear right away, as I did want get to the pepperoni pizza as a Detroit style, but would assume as some point it will be an option, especially as I do want a full Detroit Style Drunken Italian.
I got a slice of the Little Italy Detroit style pizza and a NY slice of the Texan. My coworkers got a slice of the BBQ chicken and a slice of the Wiseguy. We split up the slice into 3 smaller slices so that we could try them all. That’s how big a slice of pizza was. The NY was perfectly crispy and thin. The toppings were flavorful and plentiful. I liked the Wiseguy the most, then the Texan, and the BBQ chicken last. The chunks of chicken were generous but it didn’t have enough flavor as a whole.
The Little Italy Detroit style pizza had good and bad parts. My slice it seemed like the toppings slid off to the sides, so the middle was somewhat bare while the outer parts had the crispy cheese and toppings.
Each slice will run you about $7-8, but you definitely get your money’s worth. I could have been full off of just one slice but I wanted to try multiple slices for my first time. I will definitely be back to try out the other types of pizzas they have here.
We had Detroit, Grandmas, Sicilian and New York slices on two separate visits.
Starting with the dough, zero signs of appropriate gluten development, lacking any sign of extended or complex fermentation, lack of structure, crumb and homogeneous mouthfeel across their ‘types’.
The marinara sauce, just plain, no art at all. They are Stanislaus tomatoes (which are very good) but left at that and over pureed when they shouldn’t be.
The cheese is rubbery, even when the pizza is freshly served.
Not that it matters but the prices are ridiculous. I wouldn’t go to Slice House again if the prices were cut in half.
I feel sorry for the franchisee that bought in and invested in this operation. Whatever is going on there has very little chance of making it in the long run.
Last but not least, quality control is lacking, my son ordered for himself and got this burnt (not char) pizza. (Photo 2) He threw 50% of it away. Any one that cared would have seen the over cooked (reheated piece) and 86 it.
EDIT: Slice House responded to this review with a form response and not to the specifics mentioned above. We’re not interested in grifting free pizza or any consideration. The review was put up to warn others of the issues with Slice House. NOT to get a refund.
As for pizza quality..it was decent.. not bad… not amazing. I think it was overpriced, but I guess this is 2026
Overall, good quality pizzas, but not outstanding. Paying over 60 bucks for two pies, I’d expect something outstanding. If it wasn’t for the steep bill, I’d give it 4 stars, but the pies are overpriced IMO. Probably won’t go back because the price isn’t aligned with the product, but the pizza was good.
