I need to start off by saying that no one in the world is more picky about Chinese restaurants than I am, not your crazy uncle or your grandparents. Trust me. I’ve searched high and low for the best in every city I’ve been to. I thought I found the best when I lived in Brooklyn, because of course NYC is a beacon for great Chinese food. I’ve since moved to Pittsburgh and was sure I would end up missing NYC and wine that there’s nothing here that even comes close. That’s until I found China House in Imperial based on a review from someone in a Facebook group. And then another. And then another. So I had to check it out for myself. I drove by and I was like “this little place?” And sure enough this little place REALLY shines. The wonton soup is the best I’ve had outside of NYC and it rivals anything I’ve had there. The dishes I’ve had are all amazing. Plus, they don’t balk at serving sauce on the side and they’ll steam almost anything. I was never successful in finding any place that would make steamed pepper steak with the sauce on the side. I asked her and they were like “of course!” And it’s so good. I know you don’t know me so you don’t have to take my word for it, but I hope you will. I would never steer you wrong when it comes to Chinese food, and I’m risking making this place more crowded with such a glowing recommendation, but it’s worth it because they deserve it.

They are nice people but the food is sub par. Fried rice has no egg, just chix and onion. It was boring. Wonton crackers were cooked in burned oil, nasty. Spring roll cabbage was soggy mush. 2nd time here and just can’t recommend it to anyone.

Always quick and the food is good. Also not expensive. I saw some reviews complained about not having enough meat or the rice was plain, but I’ve only had good experiences with this place and have been lucky not to run into this, so I’m unsure what’s up with that, but regardless I like this place.

We did Take Out. Our family did several different meals. Everyone’s food was great. 4 different meals and 4 very satisfying meals. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. Thank you for a very good dinner. Best Chinese food I’ve ever had.

I have never in my life written a bad review- first time to China house , new to the area
General tso chicken was not edible, so chewy and chicken looked weird inside- almost thought it may have been undercooked, chicken fried rice was super lame and boring, the chicken strips looked boiled and almost undercooked

I asked for hot and spicy beef they give me a junk load of peppers I took only two bites and realize that I was given hot and spicy peppers and they told me I can pay $2 or $4 more if I want the beef first and last time want be going back

This was such a disappointing experience. The food was inedible. Our hot and spicy chicken entree had two slivers of chicken with vegetables that were complete mush, the garlic chicken tasted terrible and unlike any garlic chicken I’ve ever had. Awful awful awful. Will NEVER return. We only tried here because our normal Chinese restaurant is closed on Monday…big mistake.

Excellent food and friendly staff. I’ve been reading the bad reviews. Totally disagree. Perhaps they’re ordering something different than I did. The egg drop wonton soup is good. Pork or shrimp and broccoli are good. Last time I was there I was disappointed in the too crispy egg roll. But tonight they were good. Saw one review about the restaurants “backyard” There is no backyard. They share the building with a few stores including Subway and a beer distributor.
