Horrible Service and Extremely Rude!!! Went in for a sandwich today and asked what the daily special was, after the first lady at the counter told me what it was I had to ask again because I couldn’t hear her, then she told me again but with a very rude demeanor as if I did something wrong. After I told her ok ill take that and started my sandwich, we got to the cheese selection and was told they only had shredded cheese. After being talked to rudely and only having one selection of cheese we decided to go to Jimmy John’s instead. AS WE WERE LEAVING the 2nd women working with all the tattoos comes rushing out to my vehicle to tell me that we are no longer welcome to come to her Subway because I flipped them off (A complete lie I could care less about the cheese)!!! 1. I recorded the whole interaction when I heard her come running and yelling out of the store to my vehicle and would love to post it and give it to her boss 2. All I ever said as I was leaving is how rude the 1st women ALWAYS is when we come into the store and 3. I will never want to come back for these reasons anyways. It really does give Subway a bad look when you have people working for you that are consistently rude and seem as if they dont even want to be there and also having only one selection of cheese (for the whole day!?!?) is unacceptable to most people paying good money for a sandwich. I will make sure to show this video to corporate.

Staff was rude and my footlong had no meat on it, one strip of bacon and tiny scoop of chicken on one half. Food and service are better across the street at Jimmy John’s and Jay’s. Just save your money and go there.

The person who made my sub was super unwelcoming. They greeted me as normal and all that but there was no smile, no happiness, nothing but a basic “hi what can I get for you?”. They put the stuff i asked for on the sandwich and said have a good day. Literally not ONE smile or anything welcoming through the entire transaction. If I had known the service would be like this, id have gone out of my way for the toledo subway.

People behind the counter were rude. One man completely ignored guests and myself. Food wasn’t very good and the cheese was hard around the edges. Meat had been sitting open for a while as well and I was over all disappointed and won’t be going to this Subway ever again. I’ve had decent sandwiches from the Subway in Newton. I will not be visiting the Grinnell Subway ever again. To top it all off I was asked if I was leaving a tip after receiving poor service.

Went to get lunch on Sunday there were 2 high school kids working. Never saw any management at all. One didn’t even know how to ring up the order. A piece of glass from the front sandwich cover was gone. Place was filthy pills on counter dusty and trash was overflowing. Will never go to this location again. Visited on 12/6/23 between 4:30-4:45pm. Had ordered a footlong Chicken Teriyaki. High school kid behind the counter that seems to be under trained… puts the chicken and cheese on the sub then asks if I wanted toasted; Stated: “no” then he just moves the sub to the veggie section… I state to him: “don’t you need to microwave the meat”, takes the meat off the sub and pops it in the microwave. Not only did I work at a Subway almost 10 years ago for 9 months to still remember the process, but even as a customer you know what to expect. Tried using a coupon, which supposedly they don’t take (no signage like they should have at entrances to indicate that). I wouldn’t be surprised if the 2 Subways (only restaurant chain that has more than 1 location in town) in the mid-sized town of Grinnell are financially struggling…. the town currently has abandoned Hardees & KFC/Taco Bell buildings.
