With a heavy heart I write this review. It’s not just food to me when I share an experience. For me today’s visit and dining experience was extremely disappointing. The restaurant was not clean, I cleaned my own table. The philly brisket sandwich had very little flavor, fries were not hot, onion rings were a minced onion version, potato salad was not made in restaurant. After 23 years of business clearly something has gone right, however the shortcuts being taken are making a huge impact. I was a regular customer for many years when I lived in Arlington. I can definitely say from my personal experience things are just different. This is not a bash of the brand just a cry for a careful consideration of what built your brand, your love for food and community. I hope things turn for the better, as I do wish you continued success.

This place is absolutely fire, we came starved and couldn’t eat an 8th of our food. Portions are generous like granny’s house, the food was divine, and we were treated like family. Vibes immaculate. We got a 2 meat plate, brisket taco, 3 headed monster, fried Mac and cheese, brisket Philly, and the loaded cornbread, with sides of collard greens, okra, fries, and Mac and cheese 10/10 would definitely eat again and bring the entire family, worth the price and then some!

I literally just came here yesterday and had to come back again today that should tell you everything. I even drove in from Dallas, and it was 100% worth it.
The atmosphere is great, the place is clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Customer service is top tier from the moment you walk in. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get—the portions are generous and the flavor is amazing.I’m currently pregnant, and it’s been hard to find BBQ that actually sits well with me, but this place checks every box. No issues at all, just really good, satisfying food.This spot is officially added to my regular rotation, and you can definitely expect me to be back soon and often. Highly recommend!

I’m so mad about driving to M’Jays and getting there 3 hours before they close and they didn’t have any barbecue! They only had fish. Maybe I’ll try another time so I can update this review, but that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. *UPDATE* Went back the next day, Sunday March 1st at 4:49pm and only had chopped brisket and cat fish!!! They were out of all the other barbecue! Sides are amazing, chopped brisket was amazing, and cat fish was amazing! Just wish I could of gotten the 3 headed monster with 3 different barbecue meats. Out of meat for 2 days in a row is unsat and someone else needs to be doing the food prep.

Food is prepared when ordered. Love the seasoning on the ribs. Not a fan of the mac n cheese; unseasoned and dry. They have additional items that’s not on the traditional menu. Great service!

Cashier and bar back were very friendly, as were the other guests while I waited. My food was AMAZING (except for the Mac and cheese). Ribs, brisket and smoked chicken, top tier. And the have the best baked beans I’ve ever had in my life.
At first I was offended by the size of the Daquiri cup. Remember saying $11 for this little bitty cup? Trust me, the cup size is good if you still want to drive home. Definitely recommend!!

The food was excellent and it was my first time going there.
We were brought here by my nephew that used to live in the area and everyone was deciding where to go eat and he suggested this place
Im telling you that it was everything thta he said it was am more, we drove from Corsicana and a few from Dallas area so we had a pretty good crowd.
We definitely plan to come back and make this out family spot.
The waiter and cashier was extra nice and very helpful in us getting the right food to eat and the owner was just really a good man that had a very good ora about himself the atmosphere was very peaceful, calming and inviting I just loved everything about it

Maybe my husband and I came at the wrong time, but the food didn’t live up to the reviews or what we saw on TikTok. The mac and cheese lacked flavor. The brisket was dry and had no real seasoning, and while the ribs were cooked to perfection, they also lacked seasoning. The chicken was cooked well too, but again, no seasoning.
I did love the beans.
I’m not saying don’t try the place-maybe we should’ve gone at a different time. I was born and raised on BBQ, and for us, the smell and taste just weren’t there. We’re willing to try it again.

Their brisket is soooo good! Tender enough to fall apart. The catfish is moist and tender too. I love their BBQ sauce and their buffalo sauce. Yummy! I also loved the collard greens and potato salad.

They ran out of ALL BBQ and most sides before 6 pm and they close at 9 pm. It’s not a good feeling to drive 35 mins, out of my way, to find out they didn’t prepare for a full days service. At some point, earlier in the day, somebody should’ve been back on that pit BBQ’g. I will consider giving them another try, and if I do and this is how they routinely operate… I won’t give them a third try.
