I phoned in and picked up a couple breakfast sandwiches today. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. I wanted to hang out and take everything in but I was hungry and wanted to get home and eat. It was my first time ever being there despite living in the area for the last 10 years. I will be back. ❤️❤️

Probably the worst deli I’ve ever been to in NJ! Cole slaw was acid! Bread for the roast beef was stale and both women working there left my kids asking me why they were so unhappy

Cash only, but the prices and atmosphere were like stepping into a time capsule. Feels frozen out of time. Great experience

We drove quite a distance to get here. It was well worth it. The German husband and wife team were adorable. The prices were good and we spent over $140. Everything we ordered was very authentic and tastefully fresh. Try the German potato salad. It’s fabulous.

I heard about this place from our friends while we were at the NJ botanical garden. Germany is one of our favorite countries to visit when we visit Europe so their food is no stranger to us. Unfortunately, since the pandemic we haven’t been back to Germany and thought this place can bring back some memories, food wise.
On our visit today, we got some sandwiches and a herring salad. The schnitzel was yummy and so is the fish sandwich. Price is very reasonable too. They also sell some snacks from Germany. Just make sure to bring cash since they don’t accept card. I’ll definitely stop by again when I’m in the area.

Was excited to try this place after reading reviews and passing by several times. I ordered a total of three sandwiches, there were two additional people ahead of me, one person who ordered to sit down, and one person who phoned in an order. That’s a total of 6 sandwiches, at maximum, I waited for 20 min before they even started on my order, I had to leave because I couldn’t wait any longer, this was 9am on a Saturday. They offered refund but I honestly couldn’t wait any longer as it was, I figured a couple minutes meant 5-10, I would strongly suggest calling ahead or having plenty of time to hang out at the store while they prep your food. The gentleman waiting to sit down and eat had been there since before I had arrived, it was generally an interesting experience. Two stars because they were all very nice and it’s an interesting store.

I got a take-out lunch after a hike in the area. The fish sandwich with tartar sauce was very good (and very obviously made in-house with care), and their cucumber salad was the perfect side dish. I had fun browsing the shelves of products while I waited, and even picked up some German-made Nivea cream (the best!). Danke!
