It was a great overall experience. I’ve been two times now and each time the service was wonderful. We tried a few different dishes and none disappointed.

I came across this little gem while working in the area. Did a handy little google search & came across Tierra Mia. I am glad I tried it. The restaurant itself is large enough, very clean looking and visually pleasing. The waitress was very sweet and was on top of her service, without hovering. The food though…oh my goodness! I ordered the Compańado, with the bistec encebollado (steak w/onions), which came with white rice, black beans, egg salad, sweet plantains & fried egg. I paid what I would consider pricey for a lunch portion ($20), but that is not a complaint considering the portion & variety the dish offered. The size was generous and the flavor was deliciously on point. I highly recommend Tierra Mia for anyone in the area or anyone looking for delicious Spanish food!

I’ve been a regular customer for months and every Sunday I order the exact same item: an empanada arreglada (empanada with everything on top).
Two Sundays ago, I was mocked by an employee for not pronouncing the name correctly. Today, despite ordering it correctly, I was told they no longer make it because there is a new chef and it is “too much trouble.” Instead, I was told the toppings would be placed on the side, which defeats the purpose of ordering a handheld item, especially when I am ordering to go.
What is most disappointing is not the menu change, but the lack of professionalism. On a previous visit, after explaining both on the phone and in person that my order was wrong, an employee went to the back and made fun of me for not knowing the name. A male employee then came out and loudly mocked me by announcing the correct name in front of others.
It’s unfortunate that someone who genuinely wants to support and enjoy Costa Rican cuisine is treated disrespectfully over pronunciation, while broken English is understandably accepted on the other end.
Since moving here in July, I’ve noticed a clear decline in professionalism and customer service. I hope management addresses this, because the food used to be enjoyable but the service has made it uncomfortable to return.

The servers are very friendly and the food is very tasty. I seated in the patio and enjoyed a typical Costarrican breakfast. The gallo pinto was delicious. It was garnished with pan seared plantains, eggs, steak with caramelized onions, sour cream, and fresh made tortilla. It was delicious

No words for how good the food, service and atmosphere is here! Highly recommend to everyone. We are visiting from North Carolina and are glad we made a stop here.We will be visiting Tierra mia on the next trip here for sure! Everyone is so friendly here and the food was delicious. They also have beautiful mural artworks inside and artwork of Costa Rica. Again everything was amazing but if i had to choose a favorite dish it would definitely be the empanadas

I am so happy that we stopped in here for a Sunday breakfast. we were searching for something beyond the tried and true diner meal, and this really hit the spot. The service was spot-on and really friendly. I truly enjoyed my Gallo Pinto (I got it with the chorizo) and my husband thought his fruit pancakes were delicious as well. I can’t wait to go back.
