If you’re looking for a beautiful spot for a family dinner or even a casual date night, Ancho & Agave is such a vibe ✨

The space is modern, warm, and welcoming — perfect for relaxing and enjoying good food together. The portions are BIG (like… come hungry big ). Their burritos are definitely filling, so next time I’m coming back for the tacos because I think that portion size will be more my style.

The complimentary chips and dips were amazing — fresh, flavorful, and honestly hard to stop eating!

Our server was super friendly and helpful. She suggested the **chicken tinga empanadas**, and I’m so glad we listened because they were absolutely delicious — packed with flavor and cooked perfectly.

Overall, such a great experience. Great atmosphere, generous portions, and wonderful service. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu!

We’ve had our eye on this place for a couple months now and finally decided to check it out. After a family Sunday movie at AMC we pulled the trigger and decided to walk in. The place looks nice and well decorated but our service and food was not good at all. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience because our server was always forgetting something. They brought us the wrong tacos, forgot our soft drink and forgot our birria dinner. We constantly had to remind her about our order. Our chip and salsa were not good our Shrimp tacos came out cold they forgot my dinner. SMH. For the price I expected this place to be top notch. The only good thing here is their avocado appetizer and key lime pie!
Not a fan of this place.

Went to Ancho & Agave with my boyfriend and it did not disappoint. The food was a huge hit for him, and the drinks were amazing for me—dangerously good, honestly. The atmosphere is cozy, stylish, and the kind of place you want to hang out for a while. Shoutout to our awesome server (wish we caught his name!) who made the experience even better. This place nailed it. Already planning our return. Can’t wait till the weather is warmer to see what they do with the patio.

TLDR: Come for great food and drinks, but don’t come if you’re expecting true mexican.

We live close to the restaurant and were in the mood for some mexican, so we tried A&A. The place is nice, great facilities and the bar is just great. We got our seats, and we did wait a lot just to get our drinks set. Seems like there’s no order on how table service is distributed, but eventually got there.

We ordered Esquite, some tacos (Shrimp, Carnitas, Barbacoa, Pork and Steak), and Tortilla Soup. Food was alright, tasty, but not mexican. As a version of mexican seems to be fine, but not true mexican. Even though tacos were fine, the tortilla soup was not even tortilla soup but a mix of beans with something.

If you want to have a good drink and some OK tacos, this is a good place. If you’re looking for true mexican, there are better options.

Shout out to Ryan, the bartender. He saved the service.

Lively atmosphere, our host too “slow,” i know it was not her fault. food was okay, not authentic Mexican, but decent. Would not recommend tortilla soup. Although, our host excused herself many times still would not visit again. Our appetizers where too late, so we decide to cancel. I guess this place would be good for small parties not for parties of 4 or more. People came ordered way after us, and their food were served before us. When we finally they served our food, tortillas were too cold. Would i come back. “No.”

This is a newer place, so we understand the service is still finding its rhythm, but every time we’ve visited the drinks have been great and the food has been delicious with genuinely authentic flavor. The vibe is fantastic, and the servers have always been respectful and responsive.

My wife and I usually stop in for a quick drink and an appetizer while our kids are at their 1.5-hour art class, and we’ve never been late picking them up, so I think some of the comments about long waits might be a bit exaggerated.

I’d recommend giving it a try yourself and seeing firsthand that it’s a great addition to for this area of Naperville.

This is my first time trying this restaurant and it was fantastic. For an appetizer I tried the three different salsa samplers, and while I think one of them tasted a little funky, kind of like the tomatoes might have been turning a little bit, but the habanero was hands down my favorite and was to die for. I would definitely would like for it to have substantially more heat, so don’t be put off because Habaneros in the name, it’s not that spicy, but holy cow was it good! For my entree I had the vegetable quesadilla, I’m vegetarian, and was definitely one of the best quesadillas I’ve had. It was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, plenty of cheese and plenty of vegetables inside. The portobello mushrooms in it were absolutely phenomenal. My son had the birria tacos and really like them and my daughter had a bean, cheese, and rice burrito, that’s her favorite anywhere, and she also liked it a lot. Most definitely will be coming back!

We waited for about an hour for a party of 5. The server was friendly and the place had a great lively vibe. Drinks and apps were served quickly. We had to wait for about another hour for food (tacos and fajitas). They didn’t appear to be super busy so not sure why it took so long. Once the food was served, The taste was ok. I wasn’t too impressed by all the fat on beef fajitas and tons of chicken skin (got the beef and chicken combo). Definitely some room to improve.

The server Byron was great, knew the menu well and was on top of handling the table. The food runner however, didn’t put the food tray down he held it and handed hot plates to us instead of placing them on the table.. my friend said the plate was very hot it nearly burnt her hands.

The queso was the worst queso I’ve ever been served at any restaurant. It came out looking more like soup, and was so watery it just slid off the chips onto my friends dress. It didn’t thicken up ever either.. and tasted like half & half cream/milk, not cheese. It might go good in my coffee but not on chips. The fish taco was tiny for the price too. Salsa and pork belly taco were great.

I think any food runner should have noticed the queso looks like that before ever bringing it to a table. Place was pretty cool looking vs Houlihan’s it replaced so I was sad the food didn’t match the vibe.
