I tried JITESKITCHEN / Restaurant and Event Catering Services for the first time because I wanted to support a local African business. I ordered two meals (vegetable stew and suya). Unfortunately, the meat in the vegetable stew was very hard and seemed undercooked, and both dishes had an unpleasant smell and unusual aftertaste that made them difficult for me to eat.
While waiting about 15 minutes, I also felt uncomfortable because the woman who appeared to be the owner was loudly speaking to an employee in front of customers.
I called to give respectful feedback, but was told to return so another customer could taste the food before any refund would be considered. Since it was late and traffic was heavy, that wasn’t reasonable for me. The conversation became tense and we were unable to resolve the issue.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience for me.

Walked in randomly after I saw this place on Google Maps. Got the assorted meats, egusi soup with goat, and fufu. Everything was delicious and I’m grateful they were open! I’d say worth the price for an authentic meal.

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night. I was immediately turned off upon entry. The man who was working up front did not greet us when we walked in. Instead, he walked behind the counter and stared at us until we said something. He was very uninviting when he should’ve been happy to have some customers because there was absolutely no one here to purchase food. 2 red flags already but I was being open to the fact that maybe he just had a rough day and he didn’t mean to be so stale. My husband mentioned that it was our first time and that he didn’t want to mispronounce any of the dishes out of respect so he showed him the pictures with the name of what we were interested in. The 1st item that we wanted to order was unavailable. He said “We don’t have It!” Okay that’s somewhat understandable I guess but he did not even try to suggest anything similar or suggest any of the top selling dishes. We ordered the Egusi and the Bitterleaf stew. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The flavor of the food was just plain nasty. It was not fresh at all. The bitterleaf stew was rank and raunchy smelling. Every-time I think about it, I want to throw up. Also, the portions of food that are given for the price are absolutely incorrect. The food is nasty and overpriced. We got 2 small bowls of stews with fufu for $60 that we ended throwing in the trash after only 2 bites of each dish. It’s a crime shame. I give this establishment 0 stars all across the board. Please Shut It Down!!!

I have been to Jites Kitchen for tasting and she treated us very warmly! All the food we tasted were very tasty. That prompted me to make an order for my event which she delivered with the same standard, on time and everyone who tasted her food was satisfied. I am planning to use Jites Kitchen for my grand event coming soon and I am looking forward to her stellar services! If you are in the Atlanta area you should visit Jites!

The food is great! I am not sure about atmosphere, but I order through DoorDash. The food is always prepared and ready quickly, and it arrives hot and fresh! My only gripe is the meat can be tough some times, but personally that won’t stop me from eating here. My go to is the egusi and fufu, but I’m excited and happy to try anything else on their menu. 😉

As a Yoruba man, I highly recommend this place. I was skeptical initially but after trying the food, I changed my mind and ever since then, I’ve kept going back for more. The food is on point!

The food portion is also very reasonable. It’s more, compared to other spots I’ve tried in Atlanta. Even in downtown Atlanta. It tastes better and the portions are bigger. I think this is her competitive advantage.

One last thing, make sure to try the meat pie. That was one snack I really missed from when I was still living in Lagos, Nigeria. Meat pie is my all time favorite Nigerian snack. I get it every Sunday. I dare say her meat pie is better than my favorite spot in Lagos. No cap. It was tastier, bigger and had so much more meat in it. Jites is good! That’s just the summary. You won’t regret it.

I placed 2 orders Jollof rice and goat and white rice and stew/fish and plantains. The rice and the stew/fish was extremely spicy. Lots of rice but small portion of goat. It was all to spicy to enjoy. This was my first time there and I wasn’t forewarned that the dish was spicy. The plantains didn’t have any flavor. However, the service wasn’t bad. The food is really expensive. I spent over $60 on food that I couldn’t enjoy.
I don’t think I’ll go back.

I visited this restaurant today with my family, and it did not disappoint. As other reviewers mentioned, the portions are generous and absolutely worth the price. The lady who assisted us (I guess she’s the owner) was incredibly kind and kept me updated on the food preparation process.

After placing my order, the restaurant got busy, so there was a bit of a wait. She offered my daughter a drink, which I really appreciated.

I’ve found my favorite Nigerian restaurant!

My wife was asking me to take her to an African restaurant and we found this place. She ordered the egusi and she simply loved it. She got it with the croaker fish, tripe and beef with the pounded yams.

The portions were very good and the lady who helped us was very kind and took the time to explain what was inside the egusi. My wife said it was the best she had since she came to America.

If we are ever back in Atlanta, GA area we will be coming back to restaurant.
