We booked for 5:30 and arrived at 5:20. The exterior asthetics of the restaurant were beautiful. It gave a cozy, small town restaurant feeling.
Upon entering, there were two females standing behind the “bar” area. There was no one else in the restaurant. We were not immediately greeted, taking a good 45 seconds before even being acknowledged.
We were eventually seated. The interior asthetics was beautiful. The restaurant also seemed very clean.
We don’t like to be rushed, but the service was a little slow especially since we were the only ones there.
Our waitress was very nice. We ordered our appetizers and I ordered a Coke to drink and my wife just had water. My wife ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms which were very good and I ordered the New England Clam Chowder. The waitress brought my wife her crab cakes and me some type of sweet potato soup. She quickly realized this is not what I ordered and brought me the correct soup. I also had to remind her of my soda, which she forgot. The clam chowder was delicious.
For dinner, my wife had the crab and pasta special and I had the New York Strip with sauteed mushrooms. Both came with a salad, mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.
The salads were very good. My wife’s meal was very tasty and my steak was very good as well and perfectly prepared.
Mid way into my meal, I tried the mashed potatoes and noticed a long blondish colored hair that I was eating that was in my mashed potatoes. This ruined my appetite for the rest of the meal.
My wife got the rest of her meal boxed and I left the rest of mine behind.
After getting our check and giving the waitress our money, I mentioned to her about the hair and showed it to her. (I didn’t mention it earlier because I didn’t want her to think we just wanted a free meal). I wanted her to be aware and hopefully they will put safeguards in place to prevent this from happening again. Her response was “oh geez”, thanked us and walked away. Not quite the response one would have expected.

The place is clean and very unique (you will find beautiful paints on the walls; some of them are made by the owner’s wife who is an excellent artist).
The food is fresh and the menu frequently changes so you can experience different dishes every time you go.
The staff is always polite and efficient.
It is always a pleasure to have either brunch or dinner at Martin’s!
A pretentious menu consisting of alot of previously frozen food and tough meat.
If it was half the price it would have been appropriate.
No liquor license, so bring Ur own.
Service is slow, but the young staff is courteous.
Was in area looking for a place to eat and stumbled in.
I frankly wouldn’t recommend it.
However, I do note that the place was full for a Friday night, and the customers seemed to all be regulars (I saw many had byobb) and seemed to be happy with food.
This meal was not that. It was the best prepared piece of fish (snapper as they were out of the Mahi Mahi) I’ve had in a while. The beet and spinach salad was on point and the meatballs were delicious.
This restaurant is excellent. It’s a shame they don’t serve alcohol because they’ve got a great bar in their space as well.
