Possibly the best chef on the island. Cooking classic and modern French dishes with incredible care, flavor and beautiful presentation. A laid back outdoor atmosphere. Excellent staff. A better bargain than many of the other restaurants. Should not be missed. Gnocchi is incredible. Veal is excellent and is pictured.

Pictures don’t do this place justice. The building is open air on the sides and several openings in the roof but surrounded by trees and plants with trees growing up through the roof. The staff was very attentive and our waiter was happy to talk to us. The food was equally fantastic, we had foie gras, scallops and chocolate soufflé. The menu is pricey but worth it!

From the minute we arrived we were neglected. We were told that someone named Christoph?? would be our server but he (if that was his name) only asked if we wanted water then never delivered it. One of the 3 amazing ladies that serve here finally got us some water and all three of them took turns getting items for us as they clearly knew we were being ignored. The food was absolutely fantastic, although we had no idea what we were going to be eating as we had no server to explain anything (what a pleasure to discover that the scallops included a huge portion of foie gras) – however, don’t miss this place – we’ve eaten here dozens of times and never had a bad morsel to eat. It was just extremely disappointing as we are here for three weeks and chose L’esprit for my wife’s birthday on Saturday night.

Nice place, but at this price point I prefer other places on the island for both the food and the ambience. Duck spring rolls were great, the Turbot was just okay. Steak came out very undercooked. Pork loin was good. Sharing menus from Feb 2023.

L’Esprit gave us one of the best dining experiences during our 1 week stay on St. Barths. The staff was uniquely attentive to our needs. No long waits for ordering drinks or food. Christophe was outstanding in helping us choose our wine! The food was excellent, from our mushroom ravioli appetizer, to our crispy tiramisu dessert. The tuna with bok choy; and the sole with Jerusalem artichoke entrees were both exquisite! Finally, the room and the guitar music/singer made for an extraordinary atmosphere!
A perfect evening at L’Esprit will be a fond memory of St. Barths!!
