Reviews
Staffs were friendly and service is slower as usual.
The food was good and tasty. For lunch menu, we both had the mahi mahi. The portion was nice that you can have a salad and won’t be stuffed.
For dinner we had appetizers chowder and calamari. For entree it was Cioppino and Moroccan Inspired Snapper. Both were great.
The restaurant sit and over look the ocean. Had a great view and it’s also next to the pizza place if needed more food.
When it was good it was great, when it was bad it was awful!
Recurring theme – no managers overseeing the restaurants resulting in bad service and ecperiences
Go early if you want a seat with an ocean view. There are no reservations required, so it fills up quickly. There was a wait because the restaurant was full. We arrived after 6:30pm, and a temporary table was set up for us. Somehow, we were still able to get a beautiful view. The service here is fantastic! They really did look after us, and offered a better table as it became available. We declined because we actually liked the temporary location.
The wine served at Sandals is Robert Mondavi. I’m not a fan, but the Pinot Grigio was better than other wines from this brand. The appetizers were okay. My husband made the comment that his Mediterranean Wedge salad was served warm. He thought it was a little strange to have warm lettuce, but the flavors were there. The Calamari Fritte was fresh and went well with the garlic aioli. I just wish there were tentacles, and not just rings. It would elevate the dish.
Our main course was the Shrimp Surf & Turf. I don’t know if it was the cut of steak (Boston Strip Loin), or the peppercorn sauce that made it a little under average for us. It was cooked to the right temperature. I’ll give it that. I appreciated that the shrimp tasted local & fresh. It wasn’t salty, which is great. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant ones. It was okay. Maybe I would have been better off ordering a seafood dish. The Lemon Tart was okay. It was a nice sweet ending.
I wish I could have tried their lunch offerings to give it a better food review. The extra star is for the service. They did their best to make it a 5 star experience.
Sandals should close this restaurant.
Everything was badly overcooked. The seafood I had was not fresh.
The bread that came with my seafood bowl could have broken the table.
We couldn’t eat the overcooked snapper.
We went to the pub and ordered some surprisingly good food.
We spoke to other guests who said the same thing about their meal.
Totally ruined our first meal at Sandals
I had the island jerk chicken and fish sandwich. The chicken was very good, but the sandwich had more bun than fish. This is also the place where I discovered Baron West Indian hot sauce, so good! I even picked some up to bring home when we went into town.
Overall, this place has beautiful views and decent food.
The only thing that I didn’t like it was the dessert but is fine. Try it!!!
