Went to the grand opening at southern market today. Food was delicious. Had a stuffed Jamaican patty with oxtail and Mac and cheese. I’ve been to Jamaica many times and I can easily say this is one of the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had. Ambiance was nice, got a drink at the bar. Awesome time!

I loved the vegan entree it was kind of like curry beans. My husband LOVED the wings. The plantains, Mac and cheese and coco bread were also delicious. Super authentic flavors. 1010 recommend.

Raggamuffin is housed within Southern market which is an entire vibe. The food, price. Quality of service and taste gets a chef kiss. I had the oxtail patty with Coco bread and a Negril Sunrise drink. I’m ready to take flight to Jamaica. I will definitely be back ❣️

Ordered a oxtail platter with mac and cheese and plantains. Took a very long time for the food to be ready for take out. Oxtail was very very good. The Mac n Cheese however was not as I was expecting. More of a Kraft Mac and Chhese type Mac. That was disappointing. Again, service was great. Oxtail was great. Sides..just ok. Not sure it was worth $30 plus dollars.

Very clean establishment the beef patty was delectable! Highly recommend very authentic.rice and peas average the steamed vegetables phenomenal the jerk chicken was ok all the jerk flavor was only on the skin which seemed steamed not baked or grilled the festival and the sunset negril was not my favorite it tasted simply like pineapple juice with blue food coloring and the meat and sides have to be sold separately but plated as a combo which seems a little expensive for the amount overall I will definitely continue to support this small business

I think I’ve been here about 5 times over the past two weeks. Definitely some of the best ethnic food in Lancaster. I typically judge places in Lancaster on a scale of if I would go there again. The fact that I’ve been here 5 times is probably more than any other restaurant in Lancaster County and I’ve probably tried 95% of the recommended restaurants in Lancaster. The coco bread stuffed patty is amazing with jerk or oxtail. The best thing in my opinion is probably the Barbifry wings which are huge fried chicken wings covered with a sweet chili sauce. Mac and cheese goes great in the party okay on its own. If you don’t get a patty get the rice and beans. Price might be a little high but that’s also the cost of everything in the southern Market not just them.

They’ve earned this review. They have a terrible unsanitary process and the women have bad attitudes as do most of them. They give buzzers to alert you that your order is ready however, the women wearing the gloves and preparing your sandwichs and platters are collecting the dirty buzzers from customers. These customers have been everywhere and have dirty door handle hands, bathroom hands and wherever else they’ve been before they got that beeper….. point blank the customer has dirty hands. So these women are wearing gloves but collecting the dirty buzzers from customers with the same gloves on… then they proceed to prepare the other peoples sandwichs or platters without changing the gloves. Then when I asked the girl to change her gloves , because she touched the buzzer , she had an attitude and said I’ll change them when you place your order. She should change them before touching anyone’s food. She purposely didn’t make my sandwich and allowed the other woman who did the same thing with the buzzer to make my sandwich. That’s completely unsanitary. Don’t eat here! They need to either instruct customers to give the buzzers to the person at the cash register who’s not touching the food or use numbers on the receipts, and then call out the number when the order is ready. I won’t be back. I’ll see what the health department thinks.

Raggamuffin Kitchen served me lunch three days running during a local convention. Due to convention attendence, the entirety of the Central Market was extremely busy, but I still received hot food that was absolutely delicious extremely fast. I especially liked the curry goat with rice and beans.
