After searching for a gluten free chip shop I stumbled upon Neptune’s being coeliac I’m always worried about eating out/take out but seeing there gluten free menu online my partner travelled 6 miles to get me some gluten free chips and curry sauce and well it definitely didn’t disappoint at all! It’s been so long since I’ve enjoyed anything like that it was lovely! Will definitely be back soon thank you

Excellent, delicious gluten free options with a separate kitchen. Easily the best GF fish and chips I’ve had in Sheffield! The staff are also really friendly, highly recommend.

This was a very pleasant and cozy place to eat well cooked and delicious food. The new management makes the Neptune’s fish and chips a place you can eat daily. I was tried cod and chips and cheese and haddock. Excellent pukka pies. If you prefer you can eat gluten free cod roe or chips. There is a meat free menu also. George is very polite and friendly as all the other staff, too. Prices are very good. The place is one of the most cleaned ones i ever saw. Highly recommended

Went in on my walk, got their small haddock deal, they overcooked some food so I was given an additional meal for free, I’m glad they don’t let food go to waste.
Overall Friendly staff, better quality than many places in town centre and just about affordable.
As a chippy curry sauce enthusiast it’s definitely one of better ones I tried in the county so far.

We got 2 x fish, 1 chips and peas £17.90 which we thought was a bit steep, but accept things have got more expensive. The problem was the batter on both fishes was very thick and very soggy, not light and crispy as we had hoped. Ruined the meal and we were disappointed.

I’m going to be totally honest here guys, I just don’t get it, the reviews. The food. Eh!!!
I may have gone on a bad night, must have, because the food was not edible.
The battered sausage was tasteless, how is that even possible, seriously it was tasteless. The batter on the sausage was a bit weird, not what I would call traditional batter. And I got a fishcake too. Well that’s what I ordered. I deconstructed the ‘fishcake’, and, well, I haven’t a clue what it was. It had very thick crispy hard batter on the outside, soggy batter on the inside, and the rest I don’t know what it was, but I can say, definitely no fish inside.
And don’t even get me started on the curry sauce. YUK.. I dipped my battered sausage in the curry and my wife said I looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp.
Basically we just wanted a quick snack to share between me and my wife, half each, before going in the pub. But we binned it in the public bin. It was vile.
I/we would have scored it 0-zero stars, but, on the positive, it’s a nice clean chippy and the staff are friendly.
