For main, the duck confit is well-seasoned with crispy skin. However, the meat texture isn’t that silky/soft enough that can be easily pulled off from the bone. But it is still considerably slightly above average duct confit I had in Hanoi.
I ordered the Choco Caramel Tart and it was surprisingly good! The dark chocolate is smooth and with a good balance of the sweetness and cocoa bitterness. If you are into dark chocolate, then this is the dessert you try.
The staffs are friendly and approachable, and they always give a friendly smile whenever they walked past my table.
This is a real deal for this price point, better than some other Michelin Selected restaurants I have been to during my Hanoi trip.
The food was overall delicious, although some pieces of broken shell were served together with my mussel soup, almost breaking my teeth. I would expect better handling of food in a fine-dining restaurant.
Being charged extra for a couple of tiny breads when my bill was already 4+ million dong was a quite petty in my opinion, especially in a French restaurant.
We had an absolutely unforgettable dining experience at Colette French Bistro & Wine in Hanoi. Every dish was not only delicious but also plated with the elegance of fine art. The ingredients were fresh, flavors refined, and each bite was a true delight to the tastebuds.
We started with three appetizers: the Burgundy snails (escargot)—tender, buttery, and full of flavor; the pan-fried foie gras—delicate, rich, and beautifully executed; and the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and visually stunning.
For the salad course, we had the Brie Cheese Cromesquis salad, which was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with contrasting textures.
Our main course, the duck confit, was a standout—crispy skin giving way to moist, flavorful duck meat cooked to perfection.
To finish, we shared the lemon tart, which was tangy, light, and beautifully presented—a lovely, refreshing end to the meal.
One of the highlights of dining at Colette is their excellent wine pairing. The restaurant offers a well-curated range of wines, and the wine recommended to us elevated the experience even further.
The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, and the staff were warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable about both the food and the wines.
If you’re in Hanoi and love French cuisine, Colette French Bistro & Wine is an absolute must. This is French dining at its finest—we will definitely be returning.
Fair pricing too.
