Social Profile:

Ruvo is owned and operated by four brothers of the DeNicola family, who settled on Long Island in 1915. The family has a long tradition in the preparation of fine Italian fare created with the freshest ingredients. Ruvo takes its name from a small hill town in Southern Italy – the ancestral home to part of the DeNicolas’ extended family. On a trip to Italy in 1972 James DeNicola Sr., an artist who worked on Long Island his entire career, was inspired to create a series of woodcut prints of Ruvo. The prints evoke the color, warmth and vitality of their regional inspiration. A reproduction adorns the cover of the dinner menu and the original prints, along with other artwork by James Sr., hang in the restaurants in Port Jefferson and Greenlawn

Local restaurant & bar chain serving a la carte & fixed-price Italian menus in a warm setting.

Excellent and affordable restaurant week options. Happened during a birthday dinner as well. Tried many dishes but the favourite dish has to be the 1/2 roasted duck. Perfect crispiness on the outside and moisture and tender on the inside. Well balanced with the acidity and sweetness from the apricot glaze that cut across any fattiness and delivered a symphony of flavours in perfect harmony. Definitely 10/10 for that particular dish. However the veal sorrentino was not as good as I had hoped for. A bit too tough to chew, perhaps pounding or forking it before dipping and coating may help to tenderize fully. The scallops and prawns was tender and soft, very fresh! Unfortunately the bottom risotto is undercooked. Need to time it precisely, or alternatively try tasting for raw consistency before pour it out. The bottom will always be cooked versus the top of the risotto. Flounder is good with lemon and garlic herb flavour. Meatball is another highlight, especially the sauce, real tomatoes with natural sweetness. Highly recommended overall. Execution is probably 8, but the duck will bring to 8.75, not quite a 9 yet. Server is friendly and outgoing and very precise and professional. The portions are massive and the atmosphere is laid bad and cozy. Must try if you haven’t.

Ruvo had a warm and inviting presence in the Dining room. The shrimp and scallop risotto was rich and creamy. The grilled salmon was cooked to perfection and the class in white wine sauce was delectable. The desserts were huge portions and split amongst the 6 of us. Overall wonderful birthday celebration at Ruvo that combined excellent food and attentive service.

Ruvo in Port Jefferson is a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both a cozy date night and a lively family gathering. The food is consistently delicious—highlights for me were the artichoke flatbread, the chicken Tuscana, and the decadent mascarpone cheesecake. The wine list is impressive, and the staff is attentive without being overbearing.

We chose from the Prix Fixe Dinner Menu (Sunday–Wednesday, 4PM–Close, $51++), which made the evening feel like an incredible value without sacrificing quality.

Ruvo is located down Wynn Lane, across the street from Danielle’s Beauty Bar at Glow, making it easy to find right in the heart of Port Jeff.

If you’re in Port Jeff, whether coming off the ferry or strolling the village, Ruvo is absolutely worth the stop. A true neighborhood favorite that delivers every time!

Really nice place with a rustic, romantic vibe. The food and service was excellent. Served hot and nicely portioned. Cesar salad was your with anchovies and dressed just right. Artichoke and spinach flatbread appetizer was excellent also.
My girlfriend got the Tuscan chicken over spaghetti and was a really nice portion. It needed a little salt but otherwise was perfect. I got the orrechetti with sausage and broccoli rabe and was very good. Sausage could have been cooked a little less and there could have been more broccoli rabe, but was still enjoyable. One other thing, they asked if I wanted cheese sprinkled on top, which I loved, but they used the wrong cheese. Instead of sprinkling grated Romano, they spooned on shredded parmesan. Not really appropriate for that dish.

We hosted a Wedding rehearsal dinner here and everything was perfect! Easy to book due to their friendly and helpful staff. We had a trial run before the wedding with the Bride and Groom to be and the food was delicious. We had a private room that sat 30 guests. Everyone had a great time, the staff was very attentive and sweet. Everyone enjoyed their food.very much. Thank you for helping us create another happy family memory ! We will now become regular customers!

Sunday brunch with the ladies was delicious— crabby eggs Benedict and cheese & spinach omelette, Bloody Marys & Marias, coffees, and bread. The staff are polite, informative, and accommodating. A great spot off Main Street!

Ruvo is a unique spot. I like the menu as my best friend and I tend to share appetizers as they’re delicious. The space itself is cozy and very intimate, I try to go on a weekday as it gets very busy weekends. The restroom is awkward, but beyond repair as the space doesn’t allow for change and the parking can be a nightmare over weekend. I believe the service could be improved with more attentive staff that is a bit more cautious of their service, but overall it’s always a good experience.

My twin sister Danielle’s business, Danielle’s Beauty Bar, is located inside Glow of Port Jeff, right across the street from Ruvo! Every time we conduct services, we can’t help but notice the delicious aroma wafting from Ruvo.

After setting up her store for an event, we finally got the chance to dine at Ruvo Restaurant! Despite being such an exclusive place, I was initially unsure about bringing the kids along. However, the experience exceeded all our expectations.

The food and desserts were excellent, and the drinks were great. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. They even had a decent menu for the kids, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

Highly recommend Ruvo for a delightful dining experience! ️

Pretty disappointed in the way things panned out here. Management said no virtually every minor request for a private party, shipped decorations from AZ to NY for party and wouldn’t let you decorate but instead didn’t tell us there would be MORE holiday decorations when accepting initial deposit for baby shower. Told us during the party they’d be collecting $2 for cake cutting fee, few slices were served.. where was the rest of the cake? $20 corking fee for each bottle of wine is crazy. Wouldn’t let us move any tables to accommodate party size or seating chart. Didn’t go to preview the menu but my MIL said the vodka sauce was inedible so couldn’t pick any pasta choices at an Italian restaurant. Managers were very eager and excited to say no to any question or request. Asked to speak to the owner and the person on the phone said his name was Joe and when asked what his last name was she said I don’t know then hung up. Will never go back there or recommend to anyone. Shame because the private room itself was cute.
