Have been meaning to check this out since my friend told me they liked Carmichael site. Knowing its sister of “Ori-gami” Grill in E Sac, another favorite, sealed the deal.
At $9, its tad higher than some of competitors at the under $10 pricepoint, it was a GREAT burger! Starting with buttery Brioche Bun, that holds up well. Hate the buns that fall apart or get smooshed. Their Gami Sauce is 1000 Island-ish), but has little kick. Not usually a fan of American Cheese, but you could pay $1 for other cheeses. There was a size able portion of crisp iceberg lettuce & two sliced tomatoes. True to Japanese influence, their sweet Sunomono Pickles were tasty— but I wished there were more on burger. The meat was well seasoned & not overcooked even tho it is a thin burger (maybe 1/4 lb??). Some might feel too small, but just right for this light eater. You can add more patties. Tasty herbed waffle fries held up well— delicious!
Interior space is not too crowded— nice mid-century vibe. You order right as you enter— so not confusing. Staff were lovely— attentive & friendly. Parking a bit of challenge

Great burgers ! Had the pickles on the side because im not a pickle fan but these were some of the best I’ve ever had. The waffle fries were definitely the way to go texture and taste wise. The burgers are very customizable and the ingredients were premium. They have beer inside only and the Taps had Russian River an all time favorite. I want you to know that this place is small so keep that in mind but it has alot of quality in a small place ✨️

I’ve been a big fan of Gami Burger since they opened their first location in Carmichael, so you can imagine my excitement when they opened up this location in Midtown, which is much more convenient for me. The burgers are excellent (love the pickles) and I’m a big fan of both the waffle fries and curly fries, both are seasoned wonderfully. This new location has a lovely vibe with lots of natural light, nice seating, and a pleasant color scheme.

Don’t just walk by this spot; once it catches on, it’s gonna become a new Midtown staple.
They’ve got a unique take on the classic California smash burger that makes this place stand out. I’d eat Sunomono pickles by themselves, but throwing them on a burger is genius.
Don’t sleep on the fries, either; the togarashi-dusted curly fries are worth the trip themselves. They’ve got a little kick to them, and you get a generous helping. A double burger and a side of fries should knock out almost any appetite.
If you’re in the area (and in need of a late night bite after one of the local clubs), give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

So happy they opened a Gami burger downtown, and even happier that it opens late on weekends!
This is one of my favorite burgers in Sacramento. They use quality ingredients and I like that you can add whatever you want to it to make it even more special. Their fries are top tier. Name another place where you can find curly, shoestring, sweet potato, and waffle fries. and they are all delicious!
I love supporting local businesses and I’m so glad Scott and Paul decided to open up a spot in midtown.

We popped in tonight and were SHOCKED by how good these burgers are. These are legit. I got a double burger, lettuce wrapped with mushrooms and onions, and it was massive and cooked perfect. My fiancé got a regular burger and the bun was great. All of their fries are awesome too, ranch is super fresh and made in-house. Our new burger spot!!

Food was ok and service was good. Everything is just too overpriced in my opinion, some kind of combo deal would make it better and worth coming back. $5 for a small bag of shoestring fries and $8 for a milkshake is kind of crazy.

Waited 30 minutes for two burgers, some fries and a fountain drink. Subtotal… 45 bucks. Not worth it the wait, especially with three people in the whole restaurant. No amount of costs to run a burger place justifies 45 bucks for two people to eat. At a fast, casual restaurant? The price is mind blowing. These small businesses are getting extremely entitled.

Chicken Katsu Sandwich is a 10/10. I had high expectations and it was even better than I could have imagined. Staff was very nice and helped explain the menu and the specials.

Very good cheeseburger, waffle fries and onion rings. Good wasabi aioli. Curly fries are standard. Decent beers. Hate the counter service where you have to bus your own table (after tipping). Hate the loud buzzer when your food is ready. Staff can literally see where you sat. There’s no reason they can’t walk your food from the kitchen to the table. Makes it feel cheap after paying a not-cheap price. Food quality is there but the experience is not nice. Ultimately it feels like a fancy McDonald’s due to the business model.
