⏰ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2 bowls from a walk-in made in less than 10 minutes
(last time took longer but it’s FRUIT so I UNDERSTAND lol)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the fruit was PERFECTLY ripe and finely sliced/diced
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the recommendations/sampling helped me find a new favorite
I am sharing this because I saw some 1-star reviews about this place from other people, and I was surprised because I’ve been here before and the bowls were great- so I was like, what’s wrong??
I decided to walk in, order two bowls to go, and walk them where I’m staying a few minutes away. It’s 85 degrees today in July.
The server was helpful in suggesting a new flavor when I was indecisive. They offered me a sample of the banana bowl base, and I got the Nica Bowl. I also got the Tropical Bowl (pictured).
As you can see, the bowl did NOT melt when I took it home. The slices of fruit were thin and small making it easier to enjoy. My mom loves the açaí Tropical Bowl.
And the Nica Bowl??! OMGGG I LOVE it. I’m actually eating the entire thing in one sitting.
Mistakes happen, but I don’t think a place deserves a 4.6 or whatever because someone couldn’t find the right door or brings something frozen to a BEACH and blames the restaurant for it MELTING.
So I hope you find this review helpful.
I also took pictures of the interior because it’s so nice and they preserved the “vibes” of the designers before it.

Stopped by because Ive never had these before and I’m always looking to try something new. I got the Almond Joy Chia Bowl and my daughter got the Dolce Smoothie. Both were made with fresh ingredients and were really tasty without being over sweet. Parking on the street and a parking lot around the corner. For the price, it was a surprising amount of food, a bowl is a meal. My kid loved smoothie and it’s a lot healthier.

I need to know what’s in this iced coffee it is so good. I think I’ve developed a slight addiction to it. I’m telling you if you drink it too many days in a row no other coffee will do it for you. I’m over here sipping my local coffee shop my go to you know before I got this coffee on a whim because I really like the açai bowl, and it may have created a problem in my life because I don’t think I’m gonna be able to get any other coffee daily. It’s just not gonna be my coffee fixed. You know what I’m saying.

This business would seriously benefit from some form of upper level management instead of relying solely on teenagers. Every time I’ve come in to order, my order gets booted behind groups of other teenagers that seem to know the staff. Today I waited 30 minutes for a smoothie before asking about my order. The counter girl asked for my name and when I gave it to her she read me back the wrong order. Once she found my order, she realized it was sitting right in front of her, and handed it to me. I questioned whether or not it had been sitting there but she said it was “kept in the freezer.” I typically don’t write reviews, I’m young, and also work in the restaurant industry so I understand it can be hard when it’s busy. Unfortunately as I waited for a half hour, I watched these teenagers clearly not take their job seriously, giggling and spilling things everywhere, and making lines of people form. Like I mentioned in the beginning, from a business owner’s perspective, I would seriously consider some upper level management.
(I’ve also paid with cash and received incorrect change multiple times even though it literally says what change to give back on the screen)

I grabbed two drinks before work. They just opened in the neighborhood. The juice was delicious. Got a smoothie for my coworker. Only complaint, the smoothie sat in the window for a long time because it took a long time to make the juice. By the time it got to my coworker I think it was warm. I’m sure timing issues will get figured out after a while. Loved it.

This location allowed me to create my own bowl exactly how i wanted with no denying me ..& i loved that i was able to get as much fruit in my bowl the bases were thick and not watery and the customer service was TOP TIER!!!!! The best PLAYA BOWL experience ever

Was good first day. Second day I go back they get everyone’s orders wrong. I drink what I’m given and it’s banana. I order mine specifically with no banana bc I am allergic. And my whole day is ruined now bc I am so sick. This place needs employees who can read orders and not take over 45 minutes for a smoothie order! Pretty annoyed my Sunday at the beach is spent sick to my stomach.

Amazing employees and outstanding management by a younger staff! They perform well under pressure as I couldn’t imagine working at such a busy place. With that said, on weekends the wait is a bit longer (as expected) but worth it! Definitely recommend

Was very excited to have the playa bowls around the corner since we we went to the playa bowl in Somers Point. Very big inside, great menu. However the wait with nobody in front of us was very long, but we understand it’s new. However we got 3 bowls then went directly to the beach that was not even 5 minutes away and it was completely melted when we opened the bowls they were so melted they spilled on each one of us. I’m thinking they were melted before we left because the girl making them asked for new acai. We couldn’t see because they were placed in a bag. And my daughters was wrong. Again the place is new. We’ll go back again and hopefully things are better next time. I’m sure they will be…………………. After posting this review, the owner of the business got in touch with me very soon after posting. This shows they care about this business and will do everything to clear up any mistakes that normally occur in a new business.. Like I said to him in an email there are worse things in life than a melted acai bowl. I appreciate the quick response and like I said in the initial response we will continue to go to Playa bowls. And based on the customer service obviously the ratings go up and I’m sure the bowl itself is delicious. The melting aside everything was fresh.
So I would like to add that after I posted this review the owner did reply to it. Said he would fix it. I emailed him and he responded that he was going to fix the issue. Well here we are a few weeks later and nothing has been resolved. So my review stands.
