My order :
I wish the pancakes came with sides or something else. They were fluffy and yummy! I was just hungry and two pancakes wasn’t it
I enjoyed a seasonal cocktail which was very refreshing since the drinks are great here. Service was great my server immediately came to me a was very kind, friendly and just an all around wonderful women
On the negative side we decided to order lunch to go to eat on our room’s balcony. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with onion and tomato only. What she got was a plain hamburger with lettuce. I took it back and they put the meat back on the grill, added the cheese and added that to a new bun with onions and tomato. Not sure if it was from the reheating but the burger was very dry and tasteless. I had ordered the gumbo. They had a picture of it on the elevator, and the picture showed large shrimp and lots of sausage. What I got would be classified as more of a gumbo broth. It had one tiny shrimp and a few small pieces of sausage.
I had gumbo and a fried grouper sandwich which were good and the wife had bang bang shrimp. She liked them. We had breakfast the next morning and it was good too.
Prices are good for the area…
Breakfast is 5 stars! We had the Short Rib Hash and the Floribama Benedict. Both were excellent. The Short Rib Hash had some sweet corn mixed in and a nice sauce that put this one over the top for me! The Floribama Benedict had 7 jumbo grilled shrimp with the eggs Benedict over two crispy Hash brown potatoes (see pictures). Absolutely delicious. For Dinner we had Taco Time, 3 fish tacos with the fried local fish ($15) and Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Bisque Soup ($13). Very good soup!
Our final night we did takeout to our room. In 10 minutes from ordering at the bar I had my Grouper Fish & Chips (comes with Truffle Fries, Mango Slaw & Tartar Sauce) ($18). The best fried fish (3 small filets) I had on this vacation and right at our hotel at the Beal House!
Their were a couple of small hiccups. They ran out of the truffle fries and the Cheesy Tater Tots, but did substitute breakfast potatoes that were quite good.
Honestly, the best food on this vacation was right at our hotel at The Remedy!
The food was all around delicious! Catch of the day, while pricey, is an absolute must try. I still talk about how good it is. Same with the boom boom shrimp and Fish and Chips. Breakfast was good, but in my opinion, the best food is during dinner time. Once you’re done, walk over that sand dune and enjoy a walk along the beach 🙂
That’s said, their beignets were less minimal and more maximum, but in a laterally good kind of way. It’s hard to ruin fried dough doused in powdered sugar, but The Remedy placed them in a short pasta bowl with blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries, and then drizzled them with chocolate and strawberry syrup, oh, and THEN sifted a pinch of powdered sugar on them. They were good, but not what we expected.
I had the Classic Eggs Benedict, which was satisfactory, and I liked that I could cut through the egg, ham, and English muffin with my fork, but they lacked in flavor; despite all of the ingredients and seasoning, the perfectly poached egg yolk dominated my taste buds. Hash browns were served with the Benedict, and they were tasty, but looked and tasted more like a latke than browned potato hash.
My wife had the basic breakfast sandwich, which she said was a very good basic breakfast sandwich.
All in all, given that the prices were comparable to similar local restaurants, The Remedy won’t cure your hunger for the ultimate breakfast/brunch place on the Emerald Coast, but it will satiate you long enough to continue your search.
Then our server greeted us with the menu. Natalie was the only waitress. She must have been busy. So she took care of us and was very attentive throughout our breakfast. Our meal was great, wonderful omelette and skirt steak, so was our coffee. Great atmosphere and would recommend this place. We are locals, and we’re so glad to find this gem!
