I finally found my Japanese Restaurant! That knows how to make the proper Donburi Katsudon! OMG! I had given up hope! I called just about every Japanese Restaurant in Sacramento, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Roseville, Folsom and no one place made Donburi Katsudon. One place said they did but it was far from it. Then as I was perusing Japanese menus online, bam! There it was DonBuri section! Wow! I called and confirmed how they make it, and yes it’s the proper way! So I went and wow! It’s as good 100% as my original Japanese Restaurant that closed over 7 years ago in downtown. Never thought I’d find this dish properly made, but Taiko Sushi nailed it! Fantastic dish made right! The place is nice, great atmosphere, and the service is one of the best I’ve ever had, very gracious hosts, I haven’t tried any other dish, this was my first time, but I found my place for the best Donburi Katsudon!

Taiko Japanese restaurant was a nice place to eat overall. The environment was a bit strange, almost like a food court experience because the area is shared with another eatery establishment which was kinda of confusing when we entered. It seems a lot of regular customers just go up to the counter and grab a menu and seat themselves unlike how we stood there waiting to be seated, it’s not very clear what you’re supposed to do.
Other than that the food was quite good and the service was prompt. The menu wasn’t overzealous but they had a good amount of choices to choose from.

The environment makes for a great casual date night. The service was friendly, atmosphere is interesting with all the different businesses under the same roof. The prices were OK, the cleanliness was OK the sushi in the Bento box that I had seemed to be a little less than fresh, but it was OK. Nothing distinctly bad to say, but also nothing distinctly great to say about it.

Croquette, sukiyaki, some rolls. Good quality food and tasty. Sukiyaki is a little bit salty. I wish they gave me some raw eggs like traditional Japanese style but with this price I can not complain it. Rolls are fresh and good. A little smaller than other restaurant but also they charge you less price.

Ordered the fishing boat. Great deal $50 for 3 different sashimi (2 each) and 3 specialty rolls. 1. Lion King 2. Red Dragon 3. Don San. Everything was delicious besides the miso soup, Tofu tasted weird in it. Service was a bit slow, but servers were incredibly friendly and nice. Everything we asked for was brought without any issues. Definitely a great sushi place. Will be back to try other rolls!

It’s very deep in milagro Center; you won’t see it from the street. Yet it’s worth a parking-lot cruise, a park, and a venture in. You’ll be rewarded by a small, casual Japanese fusion restaurant serving attractive, delicious food in pleasant surroundings at reasonable prices.
Their menu is extensive, with much variety in their sushi rolls. Other appetizers and entrees are also on the menu.
In addition to this location in Carmichael, they also have locations in Natomas and Folsom.
Taiko Sushi will not disappoint you.

Taiko Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots in Carmichael! We’ve been coming here since 2021, and it has never disappointed. The quality of the food is always top-notch fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. What really makes it stand out, though, is the consistently excellent service. The employees are always so polite, welcoming, and attentive, making every visit feel special. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both amazing food and genuinely kind service time after time, but Taiko Sushi does just that. Highly recommend!

Friday, 6/20/2025 – Went to eat at Taiko Sushi because my little one wanted to try it. Address is 6241 Fair Oaks Blvd, Ste F, Carmichael, CA 95608. When we walked in, there were several tables in there and a Sushi bar. I saw two people at the bar eating. A large table full of people enjoying their foods. Upon arrival….
Pros
1) this is one large room with another restaurant right next to it and a bar behind it. When arrived, we just sat ourselves at a table. There was no sign for us to wait to be seated.
2) server was very nice.
3) we got our water quick. Water tasted good.
4) Sushi and bento box was good. Sauces were very salty. Chicken katsu was moist and good.
5) server paid attention to the tables with customers and made sure to bring the tab as soon as they were done eating.
6) as I mentioned, it’s one large room with several businesses inside there is a bathroom in the back. You have to walk past the bar to get to the bathroom.
7) lots of parking. Easy to find parking.
8) Happy Hour is M – F, 4-6pm
Cons
1) it is on the pricier side, but foods are good.
2)
Conclusion
We liked this place. It was good. Staffs were nice.
