Solid spot!

I tried the one in Santa Clara before, but maybe I was more hungry this time around? Or maybe haven’t had noodles in awhile, but this meal was a lot better than expected.

jajangmyeon $10.95/ea
sweet and sour pork $16.99

Noodles were cooked well, but not much meat in the noodle.

Sweet and sour pork was not as crispy as i had it in Santa Clara, which I thought was nicer because I faintly remember it cutting the inside of my mouth. The pork was fried fluffy, almost marshmellow like.

Easy parking in the plaza.

We had an assortment of dishes and shared all as one would family style. The sauces and ingredients were quality almost as good as we had overseas. What highlighted the key ingredient was the noodles. Better than most casual locales we’ve experienced. I couldn’t recollect the Korean dish names, but check the pics. After lunch, we came to the consensus that the dishes we had were better than expected. Our foodie has been to Santa Clara location as well and precedes that this location has better quality pork dishes. Hope someone will agree or have similar experiences. As always, post wherever you end up.

This Paik’s Noodle location isn’t as busy as the one in Santa Clara. The staff were just as attentive and friendly as that location. We were in the area, so we stopped by for an early dinner.

We ordered Jajangmyeon: Noodles with a savory black bean sauce, pork, and vegetables. This is one of their most popular and signature dishes. The sauce has an umami favor, and the noodles were perfectly chewy! You can also get it with egg and rice, which is called Jajangbap. Jajang is black bean sauce, myeon is noodles, and bap is rice in Korean.

We also ordered Sweet and Sour Fried Pork, which came with the sweet and sour sauce. It was crispy and chewy, so good!

I would come back again just for those two entrees!

Very cozy place for Korean noodles. It’s my second time eating there, I like it a lot. Some reviews said it’s bad service, I really disagree. The young man there is very considerate. He heard I was choked and sneezed a bit, he brought more napkins without me asking for it. I will be back for sure.

Full ingredients in jjampong. Servers speak English and Korean, very kind. I didn’t see why their review points are low. If one thing, the garlic soy wings were a bit too salty.

Came here for the Jjajangmyeon and it was absolutely delicious. I usually order it through Uber Eats, but having it served fresh is better.

We got the meat jjajangmyeon, and it was amazing. The black bean sauce had a strong umami flavor without being too overwhelming. It also had a good amount of sweetness to it which makes you crave the dish even more after every bite. There was enough sauce for the noodles given, even with the extra noodles that I ordered.

I do wish that they give out a little bit more extra meat in the dish. Every time I’ve ordered here, there’s only a small amount of meat added into the jjajangmyeon. It was enough to add texture to the dish, but may not be worth the price. Another thing is that the noodles were a bit overcooked (a little soggy), which was a disappointment. Overall it’s still a solid dish and will still keep ordering it next time.

The chili shrimp is just ok. The flavor is good, but there is so much sauce that the fried shrimps starts to become soggy after a minute or two.

A dish that I do recommend is the Stir-fried Jjajangmyeon. It’s a little bit more on the spicy side, but the flavor profile is so robust that it’s a must try. It’s not as sweet as the regular Jjajangmyeon, but it has a good seafood savory flavor to it.

Service here is good and fast. Despite how busy they are, they get your orders in quickly and serve it to you within 10-15 minutes. Recommend this place if you’re craving Jjajangmyeon or if you’ve never tried it before.

I like this place, but it’s more delicious than before. I ate it at home, but the noodles didn’t get soggy. I love spicy seafood noodles soup (Gochu Jjamppong) and Cream shrimp (Cream Seau) !

It was Good! Ordered the beef broth noodles with seafood it had a delicious flavor but not overwhelming warmed me right up subtly too! I expected it to be smaller but definitely could not finish. Usually go to a restaurant near by but forgot they are closed on Tuesday. Glad I decided to eat here as I was pleasantly surprised because it was good! And the service was super friendly and prompt.

Chef Paik is really popular in Korea. He is a CEO of a company that runs a wide variety of different franchise brands. Hong Kong Banjum is one of the brands. Hong Kong Banjum specializes in Korean Chinese food. I’ve been to many different franchises created by Chef Paik back in Korea. All of them were “at least” decent. Some of them were great!

짜장면 (jjajang myun – black bean noodle) and 짬뽕 (jjambbong – spicy noodle) are the two pillars of Korean Chinese food.

You can order two dish with rice, too! So I ordered jjajang rice instead of noodle. And I really liked it! I like how they give you fried egg over the rice with black bean sauce. (Which noodle doesn’t have!!)

The other dish is called 깐풍기 (ggan poong gi).
Man, this 깐풍기 tastes so delicious! I like how its deep fry is so crusty and the meat is so tender. It’s spicy sauce is amazing….

I recommend this combination: order jjajang rice with 깐풍기. And, maybe a diet coke to wash grease down your throat. Hahaha.

P.S. You can order white onions with special black sauce. Korean Chinese restaurants in Korea all have this dish. Just tell one of the servers if you are only served with yellow radish side dish. You can try out. Korean people eat white onion (not spicy haha) because some Korean Chinese food get too oily sometimes.

This restaurant mainly features Korean jajangmyeon. The food is pretty good, but jajang rice is a little too heavy for me.
