This was definitely my kind of place! Good bar, cheap drinks, great people and good food. Never heard of a corn nugget before, but its like fried creamed corn…really good with a little salt. So down to earth and relaxing, the staff, owners and patrons really make you feel at home and extremely welcome in their little town of Big Falls, WI, (population 61). Definitely love to come back!!

Gopher’s Bar and Grill in Big Falls is a bustling place which is much larger inside than it appears from the outside. There is plenty of seating at regular tables in the big dining room as well as bar seating up front. The staff was excellent because they were attentive and extra helpful. They definitely have great food including the burger which I was there to try. I also saw Friday fish that looked delectable being served all around me. The burger I ordered was a monster with two half pound patties. Dare I say, it was enough to choke a gopher. It was an excellent value topped with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions. Plenty of fries were included too. I ordered medium rare, but almost nobody around these parts will serve one that has any pink in it. It was still juicy anyway. Only a beastly badger can take down that big gopher burger, so if you’re the “golden variety” from the wrong side of the river, don’t even! There will be a to go box in your future for sure. I digress, but I will take the scenic drive there again.

Ate at Gophers for the first time and the food was phenomenal! We both ordered the fish platter and I had so much food, I couldn’t even eat all of it! I was stuffed full. We loved the atmosphere, service was fast, and the spotted cow hit the spot! We will definitely go back!

We had a great birthday celebration at the Gopher for my mom’s 95th. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Service was excellent (thank you Jill and staff) and mom felt very loved.

Amazing food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere with lots of seating. You’d have a hard time finding a better bar and grill in central WI. Known for their Friday fish fry and $2.50 old fashioneds, and homemade pizzas on Saturdays and Sundays.
