Originally my husband and I had planned on going to a pho place the next block over since the weather was cold, windy, and rainy, but it was closed for whatever reason, possibly maintenance. We were stumped—not knowing what to do, so we Googled restaurants near us and found Mariscos El Ancla! What was intriguing to me is that it was specifically a seafood Mexican restaurant & I’d been thinking about seafood for a while and how I hadn’t had any lately.
The lady who seated us was extremely nice and super helpful! She knew it was our first time so she described a lot of the foods, sauces, drinks, etc… She answered all of our questions and was super friendly! Everything on the menu looked good, so it was hard to decide, but when I saw a picture of shrimp with a lot of red onions I immediately became curious and found out it was the garlic shrimp. My husband ordered the spicy diablo shrimp. Everything tasted great! The food seemed very fresh, and I loved the decor and all the small details. It was also very clean. We found out they have karaoke night on Fridays, and I think I remember her saying they had happy hour through the week. I definitely want to go back! ❤️

The food is amazing! The staff and owner, Mr. Eddie, pictured in the navy blue collared shirt, are amazing and very welcoming. The art is beautiful and the whole atmosphere made us feel at home. Staff will get to know you and your family and offer the best advice on selecting food options that fits your tastes. We loved dining here. We visited from Richmond, Tx and this is the best local spot with traditional mariscos away from the strip. Local is always better and you will not be disappointed. We will be back next month and we be dining here again every time we are here in Las Vegas. So, please go visit Mr. Eddie and meet the wonderful staff. As a Navy veteran, I felt so welcomed and at home!!!

This place is worth it ! Food was so damn good !! One thing I was surprised with the chips and salsa, the salsa was actually, pretty good !! Worth the 5 hour drive we met the owner he was extremely nice, professional and easy to have a conversation.

Very delicious and it makes you feel like you are eating healthy. lol… Surprisingly, the fish in the the fish tacos doesn’t have an after taste and I didn’t even have to squeeze lime on it. Highy Recommmended.

This place was HIGHLY recommended to me by a friend. Coming from Arizona I gave it a try.

Price vs quantity: I felt like I got more food than what I paid for compared to other seafood restaurants i’ve been to. The tostadas as they warn you, “están bien servidas”. You can probably make 3 tostadas with the amount they put on your one.

Quality: freshness you can taste. Great seasoning and recipes. I want to go back for round two before the weekend ends.

If you’re looking for quality seafood, this is the place.

Very good food, good environment, good service, fair prices, about $100 for a party of three. I’m so glad there is a seafood restaurant like this in North Las Vegas.

The food was good and worth coming back for. The service was the star of he show as all the staff, and I mean all the staff, was attentive to serving every table. They have karaoke night on Fridays, which people do like; we were just looking to have a laid back dinner so the atmosphere took a hit. The pictures don’t do the flavor justice, plenty of flavor.

From the outset, the environment felt uninviting, but we remained open-minded and decided to give it a try. My wife and I ordered the shrimp ceviche, and unfortunately the shrimp was completely raw and did not appear or taste as though it had been properly cured in the lime juice. We’ve visited many Mexican seafood restaurants over the years, and this is the first time it has ever been served to us this way.

When we brought the issue to our waitress’s attention, she stated that this is how it is served and did not offer a solution or alternative, which added to our frustration. Hoping for a better experience, we then ordered carne asada tacos, but unfortunately they also missed the mark. Both the tortillas and the carne asada were overcooked and lacked flavor.

Overall, this experience fell well below our expectations, and regrettably, we will not be returning.

We were a last-minute party of 12 and they accommodate us with no issues. The food was EXCELLENT!! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. Our servers went above and beyond for our group which consisted of several children under the age of four. They treated us with kindness and every request was met with enthusiasm. We felt like VIPs from the moment we walked in.

We tried the ceviche, tostadas, pollo zarandeado, pescado zarandeado, seafood pasta, caldo de 7 mares, And several other items on the menu. Nothing was short of delicious.

We found our new favorite Mariscos spot.
