They sure are stingy with the fries. Or they thought it was for a kid. No mayo and bacon is not cooked all the way. But after traveling 6 hours to get here to visit with family and not stopping to eat, I ate it anyway due to being HANGRY. lol

This is a pretty good little Mexican place. We were in Bernice Louisiana working for a few days and out hosts took us to Gonzalez the first day. We liked it well enough to eat lunch there three days in a row. The steak fajitas and the carne asada street tacos are excellent. I had them cook the onions on the fajitas extra well done and they were perfect.
The chips are also very good and the salsa is good as well.
The parking lot is gravel, mostly dirt and would be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair.
The service was good and slow the first day, but was perfect the next two days.
I highly recommend Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant in Bernice, Louisiana.

This little place was very good! It surprised me how good it was for a small town. The service was good and the food was fantastic. I ordered a steak fajitas and the stakes were thick and they gave you plenty to eat. The salsa was served cold, just the way I like it, and it was delicious! Will definitely be back!!!

I try to support my hometown businesses but I refuse to continue giving money away to places that just don’t care whether they customers are happy. I’m very disappointed in my meal and all I wanted was something hot and fresh while I finish my schoolwork. (Street tacos) I also had to send my food back bc it was the wrong order and the cashier argued that we asked for soft tacos, which I didn’t now I’m afraid to eat my street tacos bc I heard the cooks talking ish. Most likely I will not be back.
