Reviews
The service was another standout. Our server was prompt, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.
Overall, this is a great spot with delicious food and a ton of variety. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars—just shy of perfect, but absolutely worth a visit and a place I’d happily return to.
Ambience & Service
The ambience was clean, modern, and comfortable—definitely a plus. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. They offer five spice levels, which is great for people who like to customize their heat. However, despite the good vibe and service, the food quality and freshness left a lot to be desired.
⸻
Fries – 8/10
Surprisingly good! Crispy, well-seasoned, and served hot. A solid appetizer to start with.
⸻
Wings – 9/10
One of the highlights of our meal. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sauce on the wings complemented the spice level well. Highly recommend.
⸻
Clear Soup (Chicken & Shrimp) – 10/10
Absolutely delicious. The broth was clean, flavorful, and comforting. Generous amounts of tomatoes, mushrooms, and vegetables made this dish feel hearty yet light. Perfectly balanced.
⸻
Chicken Dumplings – 1/10
Extremely disappointing. The filling lacked flavor and tasted off. Worse, the dumplings were undercooked, which made them nearly inedible. Would not order again.
⸻
Chicken Fried Rice (Sticky Rice) – 5/10
Mediocre. The rice was too sticky and clumpy, which ruined the texture. It lacked seasoning and felt bland overall. A forgettable dish.
⸻
Poke Bowl (Salmon, Lobster, Squid, Seaweed, etc.) – 4/10
This dish looked promising but fell flat. The sauce was not tasty, and the seafood didn’t feel fresh. The ingredients just didn’t come together, and the texture was off. Needs improvement in both flavor and freshness.
⸻
⚠️ Overall Comments:
• Food freshness was a major concern.
• The clear soup and wings were excellent.
• Most other items, especially the dumplings and poke bowl, were either poorly executed or felt stale.
• Ambience and service were great, but that alone can’t carry the experience.
⸻
⭐ Final Verdict:
Kao Gang shows potential with a few standout dishes, but overall, the inconsistency in quality, flavor, and freshness makes it hard to fully recommend—especially at their price point. Would revisit only for the wings and soup
Menu doesn’t have much Thai selection but there’s lots of Sushi. My wife was craving authentic Thai food so we stuck with the Thai options. We ordered soup and chicken wings to start and it was good; the chicken wings to my surprise was fantastic and we actually enjoyed it. Just enough breading to have that nice crispiness. The Basil fried rice was a huge let down for us. I could actually say the worst Basil fried rice we ever had. It was an interesting texture- grain seemed undercooked and it lacked flavor. The shrimp Pad Thai was good but we have had better, and finally the service was ok. We brought to the server’s attention regarding the fried rice & she kinda of just brushed it off. Few minutes later either a manager or owner came in to clean our table and we mentioned to her as well. She took it out from the bill but proceeded to lecture us first about how we should have told them earlier instead of at the end. But we reasoned that it may not fair well to send the food back to the kitchen. Regretfully, we would not recommend this place.
The service was spectacular, they were attentive, funny, kind, and made some great recommendations. I’ll be coming back in the future but likely won’t make it a consistently spot since it was around $100 for just my wife and myself for lunch.
I couldn’t decide between a stir fry and noodles, and our server guided me to a dish I wouldn’t have chosen on my own. I ordered the Pad Cha (a curry stir fry), and it was exactly what I wanted. It was super fresh, full of veggies, and incredibly flavorful.
We also had the spring rolls, which came out hot and clearly freshly made. Everything tasted amazing.
We’ll definitely be coming back!
